Position Overview

Autodesk is building a modern application platform that delivers connected experiences across its products and enables customers and internal teams to work more effectively across workflows. We are expanding our Pune engineering team to build and enhance scalable backend and platform services used across Autodesk products.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and develop reliable cloud-based services, contribute to technical decisions, and collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software. This role is a good fit for someone with strong backend engineering experience and experience building scalable distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend and platform services

• Contribute to the design and architecture of distributed systems

• Build reliable APIs and service integrations

• Troubleshoot complex system and production issues and deliver well-designed solutions

• Participate in design and code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

• Improve automated testing, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and observability

• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable technical solutions

• Contribute to improving the reliability, resiliency, scalability, and maintainability of services

• Mentor engineers and support knowledge sharing across the team

Minimum Qualifications

• 6–8 years of professional software engineering experience, primarily in backend or platform development

• Experience designing and building scalable backend services and distributed systems

• Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or similar backend technologies

• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS

• Good understanding of distributed systems concepts, APIs, microservices, and asynchronous processing

• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability

• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems and deliver maintainable, high-quality solutions

• Experience working effectively in Agile and collaborative engineering environments

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building shared platform services, distributed systems, or backend systems at scale

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, messaging systems, containers, or infrastructure automation technologies

• Experience supporting production services and improving system reliability, performance, and observability

• Exposure to AI-assisted applications, LLM-based capabilities, or workflow automation

• Familiarity with AI/ML platforms or application patterns such as Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, RAG, tool calling, or evaluation frameworks
