Senior Program Manager, RME Sort Center Mile Partner, Reliability and Maintenance Engineering, INOPs

Scope:
The Senior Program Manager, RME SC Mile Partner, INOps leads all strategic requirements across Amazon India's Sort Center network, encompassing 20 SCs across 12 cities and delivering across the length and breadth of the country. The role oversees nine critical verticals: Safety, Cost, New Technology Initiatives, Reliability Engineering, Base Building Management, Asset Performance Management (APM), Sustainability, Skill Development and Business Analytics across a diverse portfolio of building formats including small, medium, large and Extra Large SC. The role drives transformative initiatives including SC Championships, a technician and Blue Badge skill enhancement and assessment program. The role runs MBRs with Mile Ops Directors and all stakeholder function leaders, maintains strategic connects with HR Leaders and Ops on Voice of Associates to foster a better work environment, manages OP1/OP2 workflows, Blue Badge headcount planning, and Free Cash Flow (FCF) initiatives.

Complexity:
This role operates at the intersection of high growth, rapid transformation, and start-up-like ambiguity. India RME is accelerating from reactive to prescriptive maintenance while preparing for technology disruption through scalability of sorters and reliability centric maintenance programs at Indian sites in 2027 and beyond. These factors create a uniquely complex operating environment that demands strategic foresight, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to build while simultaneously delivering

Impact:
The role’s outcomes directly shape INRME SC’s cost, reliability, and talent trajectory:
1. Embed a zero-tolerance safety culture across all SCs.
2. Drive OP budget cycle while understanding site-level requirements
3. Drive >7% YoY cost efficiency via reduction in reactive repairs and idle asset management
4. Improve asset reliability, targeting 99.9% uptime and 97% sustainability compliance.
5. Drive WBR for the SC business unit, manages Transfer of Asset (TOA) processes.
6. Drive SC Championship for RME team.
Collectively, these initiatives will position IN RME as Amazon’s most reliable, cost-efficient, and safety-first maintenance organization.

Reach:
The position's influence extends across Amazon's entire global network through contribution to one VP-level SPS transformation pillars - Talent Excellence, engaging with global counterparts to shape the future of maintenance operations worldwide. The role partners closely with WWRME team on technician LOTO compliance and janitorial excellence. Internally, the role coordinates with Ops Directors, HR Leaders, WHS, Procurement, Finance, Solution Engineering, Real Estate, Environment teams, and site teams across all regions. Additionally, the role drives safety training programs as corrective and preventive actions post incidents, shaping network-wide safety standards and practices.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic: The role drives the OP budget cycle understanding site-level requirements, while targeting >10% cost savings by encouraging and horizontally deploying FCF initiatives.

Operational: Deliver zero loss time injury and zero serious injury to technicians, drive safety compliance, and drives FCF initiatives.

Financial: Govern RME SC OPEX and enable >10% YoY savings through analytics, spare control, and preventive strategies.

People: Develop technicians and close technical skill gaps through learning programs, capability building and reduced non-technical workload.

A day in the life
The Senior Program Manager, RME SC Mile Partner begins the day by reviewing network safety, reliability, and cost performance, addressing critical escalations across the Sort Center network.

The role partners with Operations, WHS, HR, Finance, Procurement, and Engineering leaders to drive strategic initiatives, business reviews, and annual operating plans.

Throughout the day, the Program Manager analyzes data to identify reliability and cost improvement opportunities, standardizes best practices, and oversees programs spanning safety, sustainability, technician capability, and new technology.

Success requires balancing strategic planning with operational execution while influencing stakeholders to deliver a safer, more reliable, and cost-efficient network.

About the team
INRME mission is to build India’s safest, most efficient, and lowest-cost reliability and maintenance organization.

The team manages maintenance, asset reliability, engineering programs, automation, utilities, sustainability, and infrastructure projects across the network, partnering closely with Operations to maximize equipment uptime, enhance customer experience, and support business growth.

Basic Qualifications


- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
