About the Job Role
The Regional Visual Merchandiser is responsible for driving visual merchandising excellence across the assigned region by ensuring consistent execution of brand standards, store layouts, window displays, visual communications, and merchandising presentations. The role focuses on enhancing customer experience, supporting new store openings and renovations, maintaining operational efficiency, managing budgets, and developing the regional VM team to deliver superior retail standards and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Planning & Execution of New Store Openings and Renovations
• Ensure all new store openings (NSO) and renovated stores are executed as per the latest Merchandising Presentation Manual (MPM), Retail Identity (ID), and VM guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Head Office VM team and Planning team to design effective store layouts, ensuring optimal sub-brand adjacencies, merchandise densities, and product elevations aligned with business objectives.
• Develop and monitor execution plans, timelines, and budgets for all NSO and renovation projects.
• Coordinate with Assistant Visual Merchandisers (AVMs), contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless implementation.
• Ensure projects are completed within approved budgets and timelines.
• Manage and monitor timely billing and documentation processes.
2. Enhance Customer Visual Experience
• Lead regional adaptation and execution of window displays, in-store communication, and merchandising dockets.
• Plan and implement regional model stores and cluster model stores in collaboration with Area Business Managers (ABMs) and Regional Managers (RMs).
• Drive visual consistency and superior customer experience across all stores in the region.
• Ensure timely deployment of all seasonal campaigns, visual communication materials, and merchandising directives.
• Monitor execution quality and maintain high presentation standards across stores.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate costs to ensure cost-effective implementation without compromising quality.
• Conduct periodic vendor reviews to assess quality, efficiency, and compliance.
• Ensure vendors strictly adhere to safety, fire, and statutory regulations while executing projects.
3. Drive Operational Excellence in Visual Merchandising
• Develop and monitor AVM store visit calendars and execution tracking mechanisms.
• Review store visit reports and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Maintain records of execution photographs, store audits, adaptations, VM reports, and store dockets.
• Monitor adherence to VM processes, guidelines, and execution standards.
• Track and manage VM budgets across the region.
• Ensure all VM installations and materials comply with Head Office-approved standards and budget guidelines.
• Oversee end-to-end billing and documentation processes with complete accuracy and compliance.
4. VM Team Development & Capability Building
• Coach, mentor, and develop Assistant Visual Merchandisers (AVMs) to enhance their technical and functional competencies.
• Identify training needs and coordinate capability-building programs for the regional VM team. Ensure AVMs participate in all mandated learning and development initiatives.
• Conduct regular feedback sessions and performance reviews.
• Promote industry benchmarking and market visits to build awareness of emerging retail and visual merchandising trends.
• Encourage knowledge sharing and best-practice adoption across the team.
5. Budget & Vendor Management
• Plan and monitor annual and project-wise VM budgets for the region.
• Optimize expenditure while maintaining brand presentation standards.
• Negotiate with vendors for competitive pricing and high-quality execution.
• Ensure timely vendor onboarding, evaluation, billing, and payment processes.
• Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and implement corrective measures when required.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Visual Merchandising, Fashion Management, Retail Management, Interior Design, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in Visual Merchandising, Retail Operations, or Store Planning.
• Experience managing multiple stores across a region.
• Strong understanding of retail layouts, visual presentation standards, and customer experience design.
