Manager - Central Quality

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

Key Responsibilities: Quality Management & Control: Lead and manage the Quality Control function for BESS products, including:Containerized Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS),Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Battery Packs,Hybrid/Bidirectional Inverters,Power Conversion Systems (PCS) and UPS Systems

  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance programs aimed at achieving Zero Customer Complaints.
  • Prepare quality improvement plans and monitor their effectiveness through periodic reviews and corrective actions.
  • Conduct Pre-Dispatch Inspections (PDI) in coordination with suppliers and finalize Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs).
  • Ensure incoming material quality through robust receipt inspection processes and quality monitoring systems.
  • Investigate quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Supplier Quality Management

  • Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers to drive quality excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Assess suppliers' technical capabilities, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and operational competencies.
  • Conduct supplier audits, evaluations, and periodic performance assessments to ensure compliance with business requirements.
  • Drive supplier quality improvement programs focusing on product reliability, process capability, and defect reduction.
  • Resolve supplier-related quality concerns through structured root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

Technical Evaluation & Product Quality

  • Utilize expertise in battery technologies, energy storage systems, power electronics, and related components for supplier and product assessment.
  • Support supplier qualification, component approval, product validation, and technology adoption initiatives.
  • Evaluate new technologies, industry developments, and market trends within the BESS ecosystem.
  • Contribute to product localization, value engineering, and quality enhancement programs to improve competitiveness and operational efficiency.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, statutory regulations, contractual requirements, and company policies.
  • Implement quality governance frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and control measures to maintain product reliability and business continuity.
  • Drive supplier compliance programs covering quality, sustainability, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support product certifications, compliance audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, R&D, Projects, Sales, Finance, Service, and Operations teams to achieve quality objectives.
  • Partner with stakeholders to improve product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Present quality performance metrics, supplier quality reports, quality improvement initiatives, and MIS reports to senior management.
  • Support organizational transformation initiatives aimed at improving operational excellence and customer experience.

Experience

Professional Experience

  • 6-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, or Manufacturing Quality within:
    • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
    • LFP Battery packs
    • Power Electronics
    • Energy Storage Products
  • Experience in supplier audits, PDI, incoming quality control, field quality management, and root cause analysis is essential.

Exposure to product certification, regulatory compliance, and quality management systems will be preferred

Qualifications

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Power Electronics Engineering.
  • Additional certifications in Quality Management, Six Sigma, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, or Quality Engineering will be an added advantage.
