Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Backend Development Expert with strong experience in Node.js and NestJS, along with PostgreSQL and other relational databases. The candidate should have hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) , including CI/CD deployments. We are looking for a customer-focused, hands-on professional capable of delivering high-quality, scalable customer-facing web and app solutions, who embraces modern technologies and follows best practices in continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.

Candidate should have experience of Leveraging AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, code reviews, debugging assistants) to improve coding speed, quality, and developer productivity. Demonstrate openness to adopting AI‑based tools and workflows to accelerate development while adhering to coding standards and best practices.

Understanding of the general insurance domain is good to have.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Own backend architecture, API strategy, and technical design in NodeJS & NestJS.
• Build scalable, secure, and high ‑ performance RESTful microservices
• Drive adoption of microservices and cloud ‑ native design principles
• Ensure coding standards, performance, security, and scalability best practices
• Review code and mentor senior and junior backend developers
• Collaborate closely with frontend, QA, DevOps, architects, and product teams
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas and complex queries
• Implement application resilience, error handling, and monitoring strategies
• Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments on Google Cloud Platform
• Handle production incidents, root cause analysis, and preventive fixes
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory, audit, and data privacy requirements

Education

BE/ B.Tech degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

Required Experience & Skills

• 7 to 9 years of strong backend development experience with Node.js and NestJS
• Proficiency in TypeScript / JavaScript
• REST API design and development
• Microservices architecture and design principles
• Experience on GCP Google Cloud native platform.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and other relational databases
• SQL query optimization and performance tuning
• Event ‑ driven architecture and messaging systems
• Experience with Docker and containerized applications
• Familiarity with Kubernetes or container orchestration concepts
• API security using JWT, OAuth2, and role ‑ based access control
• CI/CD pipelines and build automation
• Cloud ‑ native development exposure on Google Cloud Platform
• Logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting backend systems
• General Insurance domain knowledge in health/motor/travel insurance.
