The Site Lean Leader will lead Lean transformation and continuous improvement across the site, supporting multiple product lines. This role will partner closely with manufacturing, operations, quality, engineering, materials, and other cross-functional teams to improve operational performance, eliminate waste, strengthen Daily Management Systems, and build a sustainable Lean culture. The role requires a hands-on Lean leader with strong manufacturing experience who can coach teams, facilitate structured problem-solving, improve plant and production-line layouts, optimize material and information flow, and translate Lean principles into measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead and drive Lean transformation and continuous improvement initiatives across the site and multiple product lines.
• Coach teams and leaders on Lean behaviors, principles, tools, and structured problem-solving methodologies to strengthen the site's Lean culture.
• Lead and facilitate Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, root cause analysis, and other continuous improvement activities.
• Identify and eliminate waste across manufacturing and operational processes to improve productivity, quality, delivery, cost, and overall operational efficiency.
• Support plant and production-line layout design and improvement activities to optimize operational performance.
• Establish and continuously improve material flow and information flow across manufacturing operations.
• Develop and strengthen Daily Management Systems (DMS), visual management, and performance management practices across the site.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, engineering, materials, supply chain, and operations teams to identify improvement opportunities and implement sustainable solutions.
• Lead structured problem-solving activities for operational issues and support implementation of effective corrective actions.
• Train, coach, and mentor employees and leaders on Lean fundamentals and practical application of Lean tools and techniques.
• Support new product introduction, process transfers, and manufacturing readiness activities from a Lean and operational excellence perspective.
• Identify opportunities to digitize visual management and manufacturing processes and support automation initiatives that improve flow, efficiency, and operational performance.
• Establish appropriate performance measures to evaluate Lean initiatives and demonstrate measurable operational improvements.
• Promote regular Kaizen and problem-solving activities that strengthen employee engagement and create a sustainable continuous improvement culture.
• Collaborate with site and global stakeholders to share Lean best practices and support broader operational excellence priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Lean, or continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated experience leading Lean initiatives within a medium-to-large-scale manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on knowledge and application of Lean tools and techniques, including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work, Kaizen, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with Daily Management Systems (DMS), visual management, and structured problem-solving.
• Demonstrated ability to lead Lean transformation initiatives and deliver measurable operational improvements.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with experience working across manufacturing, engineering, quality, materials, supply chain, and operations.
• Ability to coach, facilitate, influence, and engage stakeholders across different levels of a manufacturing organization.

Desired Characteristics

• Previous hands-on experience in production or manufacturing shop-floor roles, including production or manufacturing supervision.
• Six Sigma problem-solving training or certification; Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an advantage.
• Experience within automotive or another medium-to-large-scale manufacturing environment with a mature Lean operating system.
• Experience with plant layout, production-line layout, material flow, and information flow optimization.
• Exposure to Industry 4.0, manufacturing digitalization, and automation initiatives.
• Experience converting manual manufacturing processes or visual management systems into digital or automated solutions.
• Experience supporting new product introductions, manufacturing process changes, or production transfers.
• Strong change leadership, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated track record of sustaining Lean improvements and building continuous improvement capability within manufacturing teams.
