Role Summary

The Senior Structural Steel Design Engineer is responsible for leading the analysis, design, coordination, and delivery of structural steel systems for industrial, commercial, mission-critical, and data center projects. The role requires extensive expertise in steel design, connection engineering, constructability, and project leadership while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, client requirements, and project schedules.

The position serves as a technical authority for structural steel engineering, providing guidance to project teams, mentoring junior engineers, and engaging directly with clients, contractors, fabricators, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead the structural analysis and design of steel structures including:
  • Data centers
  • Office buildings
  • Industrial buildings
  • Equipment support structures
  • Mezzanines and platforms
  • Towers and ancillary structure.
  • Structural Analysis & Design
    • Perform advanced structural analysis using:
      • STAAD.Pro
      • ETABS
      • SAP2000
      • RAM Structural System
    • Design structural members including:
      • Columns
      • Beams
      • Bracings
      • Trusses
      • Gantry girders
      • Plate girders
      • Composite steel members
    • Evaluate structural stability, serviceability, vibration performance, and robustness.
    • Carry out finite element analysis (FEA) for complex steel structures where required.

  • Steel Connection Engineering

    • Lead design and review of steel connections including:
      • Bolted connections
      • Welded connections
      • Moment connections
      • Braced frame connections
      • Base plates
      • Anchor bolt systems
      • Composite connections
    • Ensure connections are optimized for fabrication and erection efficiency.
    • Perform connection design using dedicated software such as IDEA StatiCa and Tekla Structural Designer.
    • Data Center & Mission-Critical Projects
      • Lead steel design packages for hyperscale and enterprise data centers.
      • Design and coordinate:
        • Main steel framing systems
        • Rooftop equipment supports
        • Mechanical platform structures
        • Generator yard structures
        • Pipe racks and utility supports
        • Screening and architectural steel elements
