Job Description & Summary:  

PwC India is seeking a highly skilled Data Governance Consultant with hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and implementing Data Governance and Data Catalog solutions. This is a techno-functional role focused on leveraging market-leading data governance and catalog platforms to support enterprise data governance, data quality, and data catalog processes. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define enterprise data governance strategy, roadmap, and implementation approach. 

  • Design governance operating models including roles, responsibilities, RACI matrix, stewardship models, and policy enforcement mechanisms. 

  • Act as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, data owners, stewards, IT teams, and business users. 

  • Conduct stakeholder workshops to gather requirements, define governance operating models, and align business priorities. 

  • Lead and mentor associates/senior associates across data governance implementations. 

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of data governance workstreams across planning, design, build, testing, deployment, and adoption. 

  • Own solution design for data catalog, metadata management, lineage, workflows, data quality, and stewardship processes. 

  • Support proposal development, solutioning, effort estimation, and client presentations. 

  • Contribute to go-to-market assets, accelerators, POVs, and reusable data governance frameworks. 

 

Mandatory skill sets: 

 

  • Proven experience leading end-to-end data governance/data catalog implementation workstreams across strategy, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and adoption. 

  • Strong understanding of industry data management and governance frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, CDMP, or equivalent frameworks. 

  • Ability to translate data management frameworks into practical operating models, policies, standards, stewardship processes, and implementation plans. 

  • Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills across business and technology teams. 

  • Experience managing project delivery, risks, issues, work plans, and quality reviews. 

  • Hands-on experience in one or more DG/DQ tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview, or related tools. 

 

Preferred skill sets: 

 

  • Professional certification in leading DG/DQ tools such as Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, Talend, etc. 

  • Certification in DAMA CDMP, DCAM, or other recognized data management/data governance frameworks. 

  • Experience with data governance/catalog projects using Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Microsoft Purview, IBM IGC/Watson Knowledge Catalog, Ataccama, or BigID. 

  • Prior experience conducting data governance maturity assessments using DCAM or similar frameworks. 

  • Exposure to data privacy, regulatory compliance, access governance, data classification, and data protection requirements. 

  • Exposure to AI/GenAI-enabled data governance use cases such as automated metadata enrichment, data quality insights, policy recommendations, and intelligent catalog search.
