Position: Assistant Manager/Manager – SAP Vertex
Location: Bangalore / Hyderabad / Gurgaon / Pune/ Kolkata

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP Vertex Consultant with strong expertise in SAP Finance and indirect tax solutions to lead Vertex implementations, integrations, and support initiatives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Vertex O Series/Vertex Cloud, SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.

The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, tax teams, architects, and technical teams to deliver scalable and compliant tax solutions across enterprise landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Vertex tax solutions integrated with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business tax requirements into functional and technical solution designs.
• Configure tax determination processes across SAP modules including FI, SD, MM, and AR/AP.
• Drive end-to-end implementation activities, including solution architecture, testing, deployment, and hypercare support.
• Provide leadership during system integration testing (SIT), UAT, and production go-live activities.
• Troubleshoot complex tax calculation and integration issues and provide sustainable solutions.
• Support Vertex upgrades, patches, and enhancements while maintaining system stability.
• Develop functional specifications and coordinate with ABAP/integration teams for custom developments.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to capability building within the practice.
• Participate in client workshops, solution demonstrations, and architecture reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or related discipline.
• 7–12 years of SAP experience, with 4+ years of dedicated Vertex experience.
• Hands-on experience with: 
  • Vertex O Series and/or Vertex Cloud
  • SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC
  • SAP FI, SD, MM tax processes
  • Tax determination and indirect tax 
• Strong understanding of: 
  • Sales & Use Tax
  • VAT
  • GST
  • Withholding Tax concepts
• Experience integrating Vertex with SAP using: 
  • SAP CPI
  • SAP PI/PO
  • IDocs
  • Web Services/APIs
• Proven experience in at least one full-cycle implementation and multiple support/enhancement engagements.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing consulting experience.
• Ability to lead workshops, requirement discussions, and solution design sessions.

 

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA transformation programs.
• Knowledge of e-Invoicing, e-Reporting, and Digital Tax Compliance initiatives.
• SAP and/or Vertex certifications.
