Sr.Engineer - Chassis and Systems

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

• Design and develop chassis and suspension systems to meet vehicle performance, durability, safety, and ride-handling requirements.
• Perform system design calculations for suspension, chassis, joints, mounts, and structural components.
• Develop vehicle dynamics-related design solutions to achieve target ride comfort, handling, steering stability, and NVH performance.
• Conduct fastener selection and validation calculations considering strength, fatigue, preload, and assembly requirements.
• Carry out competitive benchmarking and cascade vehicle-level targets into subsystem and component requirements.
• Prepare and maintain Design Verification Plans (DVP), Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and validation documentation.
• Collaborate with CAE teams for virtual validation, design optimization, durability assessments, and test-simulation correlation activities.
• Review and approve supplier and in-house drawings in compliance with engineering standards, GD&T, and manufacturing requirements.
• Drive technical and manufacturing feasibility reviews and ensure timely closure of design concerns with suppliers.
• Coordinate with material management, sourcing, and supplier development teams to support prototype and production part development.
• Develop rig test plans and validation methodologies to establish durability and reliability confidence of chassis and suspension systems.
• Investigate development-stage and field concerns through structured root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Lead cost optimization and weight reduction initiatives while maintaining product performance, quality, and durability targets.
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit, function, manufacturability, and assembly robustness.
• Work closely with testing, quality, manufacturing, purchasing, and supplier teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Support new product development from concept design through validation, production release, and post-launch improvement activities.
