Global Engineering is seeking a Sr Lead Software Engineering (.NET) to provide technical leadership for the design, development, and delivery of modern cloud-native applications and platforms. This role serves as a senior technical leader and principal designer, partnering closely with business stakeholders, product managers, architects, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient, secure, and high-performing solutions.

The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on expertise in software engineering, cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and AI-assisted software development with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. This individual will influence technical direction across multiple teams, mentor engineers, and drive engineering best practices while contributing to strategic business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Solve complex technical and business problems by applying innovative engineering solutions and sound technical judgment.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence.
  • Serve as the principal designer for major systems and applications, establishing architectural standards, technical roadmaps, and implementation strategies.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product teams, and architects to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Design, develop, and support enterprise applications using C#, .NET Core/.NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, SQL Server, and RESTful APIs.
  • Architect and implement microservices-based and event-driven solutions utilizing Kafka and related messaging technologies.
  • Design and deploy cloud-native solutions leveraging Azure and/or AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Drive the adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, DevOps practices, and secure software development standards.
  • Lead technical planning, solution design, implementation activities, and status reporting for strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a technical resource for engineers and teams with less experience, providing coaching, design reviews, and architectural guidance.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and architectural patterns to improve business outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Champion the adoption of AI-powered engineering tools including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, and other AI-assisted development platforms.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, audit requirements, security controls, and change management processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and technology partners to support project and platform objectives.
  • Influence technical direction and build consensus across engineering teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • For internal applications - 12 months as a Lead (currently P3)
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience developing and supporting enterprise-scale applications and platforms.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • C#
    • .NET Core / .NET
    • ASP.NET Core
    • Entity Framework Core
    • SQL Server
    • REST APIs
    • Microservices Architecture
  • Experience with:
    • Kafka or equivalent messaging platforms
    • Azure and/or AWS
    • Docker and Kubernetes
    • Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or related CI/CD platforms
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, design patterns, and distributed systems architecture.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging GitHub Copilot and other AI-assisted software engineering tools to increase developer productivity and engineering effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to lead technical workstreams and influence technical decisions across multiple teams.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
