Microsoft 365 solution architecture / Technical manager 1-2 – Consulting

EY GDS Consulting – Digital is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Architect with a strong background in building and modernizing enterprise collaboration and content solutions. The role sits within the Enterprise Content and Modern Work practice, delivering integrated, compliant, and scalable solutions to clients across multiple regions.

The opportunity

We are looking for professionals with deep expertise in Microsoft 365 solution architecture, custom development, and integration to join our Digital Engineering Consulting team. This role offers the opportunity to work with a leading global organization, contribute to complex transformation and modernization initiatives, and play a key role in shaping and growing our modern workplace and integration service offerings.

Your key responsibilities

• Produces high-quality solution or infrastructure deliverables in accordance with project timelines and specifications, using sound coding and programming skills
• Performs coding, debugging, testing and troubleshooting throughout the development process contributing to moderately complex aspects of a project
• Maintains and enhances systems by fixing complicated errors, raising risks and escalating issues where necessary
• Works with users to capture detailed requirements, translating designs and solution architecture into design specifications
• Monitors and reports on potential risks/opportunities of emerging technologies, and seeks areas for continuous improvement
• Ensures all activities adhere to the relevant processes, procedures, standards and technical design
• Develop and promote best practices for usage, operations and development
• Strong analytical and communication skills with intense drive to learn and adopt.

Skills and attributes

• 7–12 years of experience in enterprise solution architecture and development
• Strong hands-on experience with:
• SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
• Microsoft Teams app development
• .NET / C#
• REST APIs and integration patterns
• Proven experience designing enterprise-grade M365 solutions
• Strong understanding of modern workplace concepts (collaboration, productivity, extensibility)
• Excellent architectural thinking beyond platform-specific constraints
• Experience designing integrated solutions across multiple systems
• Strong understanding of cloud-native and modern application architectures
• Ability to define standards, patterns, and best practices

Core Skills:

• Microsoft 365 & SharePoint: SPFx development, PnP Framework, PowerShell automation
• Application Development: .NET, C#, React, Azure Functions, enterprise-grade solution design
• Power Platform: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents with governance awareness
• Dataverse: Data modeling, APIs, security, and integration with Power Platform and custom apps
• Integration Architecture: REST & SOAP APIs, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, secure enterprise integrations
• Azure DevOps: CI/CD, source control

Desirable Skills:

• Microsoft Purview: Data governance, DLP, information protection
• Microsoft Syntex: AI-driven content processing, document understanding, classification, and generation
• AI Builder: Custom AI models, integration with Power Platform
• Microsoft 365 Copilot: Integration with M365 apps

• PCF Controls: Custom PowerApps Component Framework development using React and TypeScript

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A bachelor's or master's degree
• Strong experience across Microsoft SharePoint (on‑premises and online), with the ability to modernize and extend solutions beyond platform constraints
• Proven hands-on expertise with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Power Apps, and Power Automate for building modern, extensible business solutions
• Strong front-end development skills using TypeScript, React, Angular, and Fluent UI, with an emphasis on scalable and reusable components
• Solid experience with PowerShell and PnP for automation, provisioning, and enterprise governance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to operate as a solution architect and trusted advisor

Ideally, you’ll also have

1. Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products.
2. Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
