Job Description

Group Product Manager

Overview

We are looking for a Group Product Manager Leader passionate about building customer-centric products and experiences. In this role, you will help define product vision and strategy, collaborate closely with engineering and design teams, engage directly with customers, and deliver productivity solutions in a flagship app in the M365 suite.  Our teams are building the next generation of AI capabilities in the M365 suite for millions of users worldwide to improve how people communicate, organize information, and get work done, all while working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Own the overall health, quality, strategy, roadmap, delivery and the outcomes customers experience for a product line and its features in the M365 suite. Set direction and priorities for your area, make the hard trade-offs, and hold the line on scope, sequencing and quality. Ensure consistent delivery excellence through Microsoft methodologies, quality standards and governance.
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, research, data science, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative customer-facing solutions.
  • Engage customers and partners to understand needs, validate scenarios, gather feedback, and inform product decisions.
  • Translate customer, market, and business opportunities into clear product requirements and execution plans.
  • Excel in storytelling, build the business case for investment, size the opportunity, define the success metrics, and defend the plan in leadership, planning and review forums.
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Prioritize investments and features based on customer impact, business value, technical feasibility, and strategic goals.
  • Define success metrics, monitor product performance, and communicate results and impact to leadership.
  • Support go-to-market efforts by partnering with marketing, sales, and business teams to drive adoption and customer success.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, customer obsession, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and develop product managers through coaching, clear expectations and accountability. Model Microsoft's Model, Coach, Care leadership culture — creating an environment where people grow and perform at their best. Partner with capacity and resource teams to align the right skills to the right work at the right time. Own the professional development of the people in your area, including onboarding, ongoing feedback and career growth, and provide managers with in-depth insight into their performance.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years of experience in product management
  • Experience leading product managers as a manager, area lead or equivalent with a track record of growing people.
  • Proven track record of owning a product line or major product area end to end, from strategy through shipping to measured business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success engaging senior customer stakeholders and executives, and turning those conversations into product direction and resolved blockers.
  • Solid cross-group influence: able to align engineering, design, research, marketing, sales, support and finance around a shared plan without direct authority.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; data-driven by default.
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated use and adoption of AI in real-life product practices, applying AI agents and tools to research, analysis, specification, prototyping and decision-making, and raising that bar across the team.

This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
