In 2018, we began with a WhatsApp group with a simple hypothesis: people in tier-2/3 towns weren’t really using the internet meaningfully yet. We believed that if we started with local content in their own language, they’d come back every day; once there was a habit and trust, that same space could naturally grow into classifieds and, eventually, something they used for almost everything online.This spark became Lokal. Our first instinct was to put everything in one place & one app - local updates, classifieds, jobs, matrimony and more. It worked, till it stopped working. Users gave us the insight - when one use case outweighs the others, everything else seems like noise. We listened. Like how Craigslist quietly seeded a generation of focused companies & marketplaces, we began unbundling and verticalising.

We are looking for a creative, audience-focused Video Content Creator / Creative Strategist who can bring the Lokal Matrimony experience to life through engaging UGC videos, relatable storytelling, product explainers, and high-performing video ads. The role will focus on creating content that resonates with male and female audiences, builds trust, highlights the product's value, and drives user engagement and app installs through platforms such as Meta and Google.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Video Content Creator / Creative Strategist to create engaging, relatable, and high-performing video content for Lokal Matrimony, a hyperlocal, compatibility-first partner search platform.

The role requires strong scriptwriting, storytelling, on-camera presentation, audience understanding, and creative ideation skills, with the ability to turn product features and user needs into compelling UGC videos, promotional reels, and performance marketing ads that build trust, drive engagement, and increase app installs.

Key Responsibilities

• Write scripts and create engaging UGC videos, product explainers, informative reels, and promotional video ads for Lokal Matrimony.
• Develop creative concepts for Meta and Google/YouTube Ads, targeting both male and female audiences.
• Appear on camera and deliver confident, engaging, and relatable presentations.
• Create compelling hooks, scripts, CTAs, and multiple creative variations for ad testing and optimization.
• Research audience preferences, user behavior, regional trends, and competitor content to generate relevant creative ideas.
• Communicate the platform’s value proposition, product features, and compatibility-first partner search experience through engaging video content.
• Collaborate with videographers and marketing teams on video shoots, production, editing, and creative execution.
• Adapt scripts and content formats based on campaign objectives, audience segments, and performance insights.
• Stay updated on Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, UGC trends, and digital advertising formats to identify new content opportunities.
• Support creative testing by developing different hooks, storytelling approaches, and messaging for performance marketing campaigns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Business, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
• 0–1 year of experience in video content creation, UGC creation, scriptwriting, content marketing, or a related field. Freshers with strong communication and on-camera skills can apply.
• Strong Hindi and English communication and scriptwriting skills. Kannada or other regional languages are an advantage.
• Confidence in front of the camera, strong storytelling ability, and engaging presentation skills.
• Understanding of Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, UGC videos, product explainers, and digital advertising content.
• Ability to develop creative hooks, relatable scripts, and promotional content for different audience segments.
• Basic knowledge of video editing tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or similar tools is an advantage.
• Strong creativity, audience understanding, communication, and willingness to experiment with new content formats.
• Interest in matrimony platforms, relationships, consumer apps, and audience-focused storytelling is an advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Comfortable appearing on camera and creating creator-led video content.
• Able to simplify product features into relatable and engaging stories.
• Interested in creating performance-driven creatives that support brand awareness, engagement, and app installs.
