Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Citrix VDI Support Engineer – Workplace Services to provide advanced L2/L3 technical support and maintain the availability, performance, security, and end-user experience of a global virtual desktop and application environment. This hands-on role focuses on Citrix platform administration, incident and problem resolution, operational support, automation, vendor coordination, and collaboration across End User Computing and Digital Workplace Services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily operational support for Citrix VDI services, managing incidents, service requests, platform health checks, capacity monitoring, problem investigations, and controlled changes across Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops and Citrix Cloud environments.
Act as an advanced L2/L3 escalation resource for issues involving desktop and application launches, session disconnects, latency, printing, audio/video, authentication, user profiles, policies, and virtual desktop availability.
Administer and maintain core Citrix components, including Delivery Controllers, Cloud Connectors, StoreFront, Citrix Gateway, Director, Studio, VDAs, Machine Catalogs, Delivery Groups, Machine Creation Services, Provisioning Services, Workspace Environment Management, Profile Management, and supporting SQL infrastructure.
Manage Citrix NetScaler ADC and Gateway services, including load balancing, SSL offloading and certificates, content switching, authentication policies, high availability, ICA Proxy, secure remote access, firmware lifecycle, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Drive image lifecycle management, application publishing, desktop provisioning, patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery testing, and business continuity for persistent and non-persistent VDI environments.
Monitor platform health, capacity, logon performance, and end-user experience using Citrix Director, NetScaler monitoring, and related observability tools perform root-cause analysis and recommend continuous service improvements.
Partner with Service Desk, endpoint, identity, network, security, cloud, application, and vendor teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable workplace services to global end users.
Automate health checks, reporting, provisioning, remediation, and repetitive administration using PowerShell, Citrix SDKs, APIs, and operational scripts.
Qualifications & Skills
8+ years of experience in End User Computing, Workplace Services, virtual desktop infrastructure, or application virtualization, with strong hands-on expertise in supporting Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments.
Strong knowledge of Citrix architecture, including Citrix Cloud/DaaS, Delivery Controllers, Cloud Connectors, StoreFront, Gateway, Machine Creation Services, Provisioning Services, Workspace Environment Management, Profile Management, and Citrix Workspace app.
Hands-on expertise in Citrix NetScaler ADC and Gateway administration, including load balancing, high availability, SSL/TLS, certificates, authentication, traffic policies, ICA Proxy, upgrades, diagnostics, and secure access.
Strong understanding of Windows Server and desktop operating systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server, identity and access management, networking, and public cloud fundamentals.
Proficiency with PowerShell, Citrix SDKs, monitoring and diagnostic tools, image management, application delivery, capacity planning, and troubleshooting complex VDI performance and connectivity issues.
Proven experience supporting enterprise VDI operations, coordinating major incident and change activities, working with technology vendors, and communicating effectively with global stakeholders in a 24x7 service environment.
