Job Description

Legal Officer

  • Handle legal matters related to loan recovery, collections, and litigation.
  • Draft, review, and vet legal notices, agreements, affidavits, and other legal documents.
  • Coordinate with advocates, courts, police authorities, and government offices for legal proceedings.
  • Monitor and follow up on recovery cases filed under applicable laws.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Track court cases and maintain legal MIS, records, and documentation.
  • Provide legal opinions and advice on business and recovery-related matters.
  • Verify legal documents of borrowers and properties whenever required.
  • Support branches in resolving legal disputes and customer grievances.
  • Manage arbitration, SARFAESI, cheque bounce, civil, and criminal cases as applicable.
  • Liaise with external legal counsels and recovery agencies.
  • Prepare regular legal status reports and updates for management.
