IT Developer I- PEMS Application Developer

Department: LAPS Development, Enterprise IT & Quality

Location: Bangalore

Your impact begins here

As PEMS (Production Environment Monitoring System) developer you will design, develop and support solutions on the LabVantage LIMS platform for QC laboratory operations and the PEMS system. You will build features and interfaces, resolve complex application issues and contribute to reliable releases in a regulated GxP environment. By combining strong technical delivery with close business collaboration, you will help improve system functionality, data integrity and the day-to-day experience of laboratory users.

What you'll bring

You are a hands-on developer who takes ownership, learns independently and works effectively across technical and business teams. You will bring:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • 4-6 years of software development experience using Java and database technologies, including application development, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Strong development skills in Core Java, JavaScript, JSP, REST APIs, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience debugging application issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing sustainable fixes.
  • Experience authoring and reviewing FDS, TDS, API documents, risk assessments and test documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management, verbal and written communication, analytical and decision-making skills.
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with ownership, collaboration, knowledge sharing and the ability to work within defined processes and deadlines.

 Useful, but not essential:

  • Experience with hands on PEMS development in the Lab Vantage ecosystem is a plus
  • Experience operating and maintaining a GxP or business-critical IT system is a plus

What you'll do

  • Design and development: Develop LabVantage LIMS features, interfaces, configurations and proofs of concept for the PEMS system.
  • Technical troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis, resolve application issues, deliver bug fixes and patch sets, and address support tickets requiring technical analysis.
  • Specifications and quality: Create, update and review FDS, TDS and API documentation; perform code reviews and maintain relevant CIL updates.
  • Release and upgrade delivery: Contribute to PEMS upgrades and releases by developing changes, assessing risk, designing and executing tests, and deploying to validation and production environments.
  • Testing and validation: Prepare and execute SIT and OQ test cases and support compliant delivery across the end-to-end release cycle.
  • Business collaboration: Work with users, system owners, system managers, product and project stakeholders, IT SMEs, service providers, consultants and vendors to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Continuous improvement: Understand system functionality, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, propose new ideas and adapt methods based on operational experience and feedback.
  • Agile delivery: Contribute actively in daily stand-ups, PI Planning, team channels and other Agile delivery activities.

Who you'll work with

You will join the LAPS Development and work globally with colleagues supporting QC laboratory operations and the PEMS system. Your partners will include line-of-business users, system owners and managers, product and project stakeholders, department managers, IT subject-matter experts, service providers, external consultants, vendors and the Release Train Engineer.

You will collaborate with these groups throughout development, support, release and improvement activities, presenting solutions and coordinating vendor contributions to keep delivery aligned with business needs and quality expectations.

What you can expect here

You will work in an international, regulated environment where technical quality, compliance and dependable laboratory systems matter. The role offers broad ownership across development, problem solving, validation, stakeholder collaboration and release delivery, with opportunities to deepen your LabVantage expertise and influence future improvements.

You will be encouraged to bring forward ideas, share knowledge, mentor colleagues and take initiative on complex challenges while helping the team deliver trusted systems and services.
