Deputy Manager - Quality (Electrical)
Thorough study and review of project drawings, BOQ, contract specifications, and quality requirements.
Responsible for the effective implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of AEL's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements.
Preparation, review & Finalization of Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), QA/QC guidelines, standard templates, procedures, and insp. protocols for all projects as per Group Guideline.
Preparation and finalization of Standard Quality Plans (SQPs), review and approval of deviations against pre-approved SQPs, and review and acceptance of Vendor Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs) to ensure compliance with project quality requirements.
Inspection planning in line with project schedules and conducting inspections at OEM/vendor premises as and when required.
Selection and deployment of Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies for inspection activities.
Review of Inspection Reports (IRs), observations, compliance status, and issuance of Material Dispatch Clearance Certificates (MDCCs).
Periodic visits to vendor work and project sites to carry out quality inspections & surveillance activities.
Conducting Pre-Dispatch Inspections (PDIs) of project materials at vendor/manufacturer premises.
Management and control of project quality documentation and document management systems.
Verification and certification of TPI agency invoices and coordination for timely payment processing.
Providing regular feedback to the Project Quality Manager on QC progress, inspection and test status, quality issues, and Non-Conformance (NC) status.
Preparation, compilation, review, and verification of project QA/QC records and quality dossiers/submittals in accordance with contractual requirements.
Coordination with internal and external stakeholders, including project teams, vendors, EPC contractors, TPI agencies, and site QA/QC personnel.
Preparation and submission of quality MIS reports to the Project Quality Manager.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Coordinate regularly with the Field Quality Assurance (FQA) team and Project Quality Manager (PQM) to resolve day-to-day QA/QC-related issues.
Support the qualification, development, and assessment of new OEMs and electrical equipment manufacturers, including technical and quality evaluations.
Provide support to the FQA team in the selection, deployment, and coordination of Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies at site, as and when required.
Coordinate with EPC contractors, construction managers, and project managers to ensure timely closure of NCs, adherence to construction quality requirements during project execution, and 100% compliance with applicable quality standards, specifications, and inspection requirements during equipment inspections at vendor/source premises.
Attend meetings with project contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to communicate quality requirements, discuss inspection status, and highlight quality-related issues and concerns.
Essential: BE / Diploma in Electrical Engg.
Desired: BE in Electrical Engg.
- BE with minimum 8 yr. experience in Project Quality monitoring & Control activities
