Job Description

Sr Director, Finance & Operations, India

Department : Finance & Operations (India commercial entity - Novo Nordisk India Private Ltd)

Location : Bengaluru, India

Shape the financial backbone of one of the world's fastest-growing markets for life-saving medicines. This isn't just a finance role – it's a strategic leadership position where your decisions will directly influence how millions of patients across India access the treatments they need.

Your new role

As Senior Director, Finance & Operations, you'll be the strategic partner to India's General Manager, driving financial excellence while managing critical supply chain and procurement operations. You'll have the autonomy to build systems, shape strategies, and lead initiatives that ensure sustainable business growth in one of our most dynamic markets. You will be a member of the India Leadership Team, reporting to the General Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and executing strategic financial plans that shape short, medium, and long-term business success, including budgeting, forecasting, and management information systems

- Leading the pricing framework in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure our medicines reach patients effectively

- Overseeing all accounting operations, building robust control systems and ensuring audit and compliance readiness across India operations

- Managing the end-to-end supply chain, liaising with contract manufacturing partners and distribution networks to ensure seamless product availability

- Driving procurement excellence and administrative operations across headquarters and zonal offices, through strong benchmarking and collaboration with Global Shared Services

- Leading and developing a high-performing team of 15-20 finance and operations professionals across multiple locations

- Partnering with the leadership team to deliver strong financial KPIs while building a sustainable business foundation

Your new department

As part of International Operations, you will join our largest operational unit. Covering 194 countries and 95% of the world's population, more than 18,000 of us work passionately to serve 35 million patients each day. With a promise to outperform the competition, we continue to be the growth driver for Novo Nordisk, and to improve health at scale across the globe.

Within India, you'll be a key member of the leadership team driving our ambitious growth strategy in a market where access to quality healthcare can genuinely transform lives. India represents both significant opportunity and complexity – and your role will be central to navigating both while maintaining our commitment to ethics, quality, and patient focus.

Your skills & qualifications

We're looking for an accomplished finance leader who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and can operate strategically while maintaining operational excellence. You'll bring:

- CA or MBA in Finance from a reputed institute, with strong technical skills across financial planning, tax, treasury, and accounting

- 15+ years of progressive experience as a finance leader, ideally within multinational organizations with a global mindset

- Proven ability to drive business results in complex and dynamic environments, with experience managing multiple stakeholder relationships

- Exceptional leadership capabilities with experience building, developing, and coaching high-performing teams

- Outstanding communication and influencing skills to interact confidently with senior internal and external stakeholders

- Strategic thinking combined with attention to detail – able to see the big picture while ensuring operational rigour

- Experience in supply chain or operations management would be advantageous
