Job Description: Senior Technology Consultant – Capital Markets (Calypso Specialist)

Job Purpose:

• Need to work as a Senior Technology Consultant in the capacity of Capital Market – Calypso Implementation Specialist in Capital Market core modernisation and migration projects.
• Should exhibit deep experience in financial services during the client discussions and be able to convince the client on the solution.

 

• Work Experience Requirements
• Functional Experience
  • 4 to 8 years of hands on experience in Capital Markets with strong exposure to Front to Back trade lifecycle.
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Securities trading, settlements, confirmations, reconciliation, and clearing.
    • Middle office processes including trade validation, enrichment, allocation, and reporting.
    • Regulatory reporting and compliance across capital markets.
  • Demonstrates experience interacting with business stakeholders, product controllers, operations, and risk teams.
  • Prior exposure to transformation, modernization, or migration programs in Capital Markets.

 

Technical Experience

• Strong implementation experience in Calypso, particularly Version 14+ (preferred), across:
  • System configuration in trading, static data, settlement, and middle office modules.
  • Workflow design and exception handling.
  • Integration with upstream and downstream systems.
• Hands on experience with:
  • Trade processing engines
  • Static and reference data frameworks
  • Interfaces, messaging standards (ISO15022/20022, FIX), and APIs
• Experience working in Agile environments and contributing to functional & technical design workshops.

  • Middle Office Reporting Framework
  • Block Allocation – Vinci SS1 enrichment
  • Archiving concepts and strategy
• Ability to write and analyze SQL queries.
• Good understanding of system integration, APIs (SOAP/REST), and messaging.
• Ability to interpret technical logs, troubleshoot issues, and guide development teams.
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments:
  • Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Listed & OTC Derivatives, Repos, and Structured Products.
• Understanding of:
  • Trade lifecycle from booking to settlement
  • Risk factors, pricing inputs, and PnL drivers
  • Collateral management fundamentals
  • Treasury and liquidity processes
• Experience in requirements gathering, gap analysis (OOTB vs. custom), and functional documentation.
• Exposure to Agile delivery models (Scrum/Kanban).

 

Technical Skills

• Application and Solution (workflow, interface) technical design.
• Business requirements, definition, analysis, and mapping.
• Understanding of technology landscape and providing system configuration design in Market, Static and Reference data.
• Knowledge of databases, infrastructure, application servers, Technical Architecture, Security and Performance management.
• Expertise in writing integration specifications and knowledge of Soap or Rest APIs.

 

One or more of following Tech skill categories:

• Database skills – Able to write SQL queries of moderate complexity,
• Programming/ Scripting skills: One of {Python, Java, C#} - able to write methods calling APIs
• Experience in Cloud and CI/CD (Devops Automation environment)
• Data Visualization – Dashboard analysis with Tableau, Power Bi

Education and Experience

• MBA / MCA / BE / BTech or equivalent degree.
• 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in Capital Markets, preferably within banking, investment banking, or financial technology domains.
