Specialist - Architecture
Key ResponsibilitiesAssessment Discovery
Perform SQL Server estate discovery and assessment
Analyze database dependencies integrations and connectivity requirements
Assess SQL versions editions HADR configurations storage usage and performance baselines
Identify migration blockers risks and remediation actions
Provide migration complexity ratings for each workload
Migration Planning
Define migration strategies including
oLift and Shift
oRehost
oReplatform
oUpgrade during migration
oConsolidation opportunities
Develop migration runbooks and rollback procedures
Define downtime requirements and cutover approaches
Support migration wave planning
Migration Execution
Execute SQL Server migrations across
oPhysicaltoVirtual
oVirtualtoVirtual
oDatacenter Consolidation
oAzure migrations
Perform schema database and instance migrations
Manage backup restore replication log shipping and Always On related activities
Execute migration cutovers and validation activities
Validation Hypercare
Verify database integrity post migration
Validate application connectivity and functionality
Resolve migrationrelated incidents during hypercare
Support performance tuning after migration
Architecture Governance
Review targetstate database architecture
Recommend SQL modernization opportunities
Support HADR alignment with business requirements
Ensure security compliance and backup standards are maintained
