Legal Counsel - Connectivity Services Business Unit

Purpose

We are seeking a commercially oriented in-house lawyer to support the Connectivity Services Business Unit of IDEMIA Secure Transactions (IST).

This role provides day-to-day legal and contractual support to business operations, with a strong focus on commercial contracting, deal execution, and business enablement in a fast-paced, international environment.

The ideal candidate combines solid legal expertise with a pragmatic, solution-driven mindset, and is comfortable working closely with Sales, Product, and operational teams.

• Location: IDEMIA offices in Bucharest (Hybrid)
• Reports to: Head of Legal (Connectivity Services Business Unit)
• Team: Global IST Legal & Compliance (~30 professionals worldwide)

Key Missions

• Provide commercial legal support to drive the growth and performance of the Connectivity Services Business Unit.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer contracts, SaaS agreements, licensing agreements, NDAs, DPAs, partnerships, and amendments.
• Support business teams throughout the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring efficient contract execution and successful deal closure.
• Deliver practical, business-oriented legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Identify legal and commercial risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, including data privacy, export control, and competition law requirements.
• Support internal governance processes, approvals, and compliance standards.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess their impact on business operations.
• Act as a trusted legal partner to Sales, Product, and Operations teams.
• Facilitate contract-related issue resolution, claims management, and negotiations.
• Deliver legal training and promote knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement, simplification, and standardization of legal and contract management processes.
• Drive business outcomes by balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.

Profile & Other Information

Legal & Business Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in commercial contracting (technology, SaaS, or digital services preferred)
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills in English (French or any other language is a plus)
• Ability to manage multiple transactions under tight deadlines
• Solid understanding of risk assessment and commercial trade-offs
