Accounts Analyst I

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for accuracy, efficiency, and delivering exceptional service? Do you thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment where your work has a real global impact? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Swiss Re is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Finance Specialist, Accounts Payable to join our Finance Operations team in Bangalore. This is your chance to be part of a truly global organisation, working with teams across multiple locations worldwide and playing a key role in keeping our financial operations running smoothly.

About the Role

As a Finance Specialist in Accounts Payable, you will be at the heart of our Procure-to-Pay operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices for multiple Swiss Re locations around the world. You will work closely with suppliers, business stakeholders, Procurement, and Finance teams, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, tax regulations, internal controls, and service level agreements. This is a role where precision meets collaboration, and where your contributions will be felt across the globe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices independently and allocate them to the appropriate expense accounts in a timely and accurate manner
  • Verify invoice correctness and ensure proper authorisations are in place before processing
  • Archive all original documents in line with Knowledge & Records requirements and local regulatory standards
  • Book direct debits, standing orders, and internal approvals accurately and efficiently
  • Manage supplier queries related to invoice status, payment dates, discrepancies, and balance confirmations with professionalism and care
  • Handle internal stakeholder queries related to invoice status, payment dates, discrepancies, and ad hoc reporting needs
  • Deputise for team members and maintain a comprehensive overview of all team responsibilities to ensure seamless operations
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including AP reconciliations and resolution of open balances
  • Process re-bookings and corrections, and manage open balances with a clear understanding of manual journal entries
  • Share knowledge and expertise with team members, and actively support the onboarding and training of new colleagues
  • Apply knowledge of GST/VAT, TDS, RCM, and other relevant taxation topics to ensure compliance across transactions
  • Leverage awareness of payment and banking processes including Wires, ACH, SWIFT, Cheques, and Direct Debits
  • Identify gaps in AP processes and proactively outline solutions and improvements to drive operational excellence
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on a timely basis to reflect any process changes
  • Utilise approved AI and translation tools to support the processing of invoices received in multiple languages
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs and KPIs related to invoice handling and ticket resolution
  • Perform additional position-related tasks as directed by the Supervisor

About the Team

The Accounts Payable Invoice Processing team is responsible for processing supplier invoices for several Swiss Re locations worldwide. The team ensures that all payments are processed in a timely manner, in line with internal rules and guidelines, and maintains regular communication with both internal and external customers. As a truly global team, we pride ourselves on our collaborative spirit, our commitment to accuracy, and our drive to continuously improve the way we work.

About You

You are a proactive and analytical finance professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work. You bring a collaborative mindset, a strong sense of ownership, and a genuine curiosity for continuous improvement. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and are passionate about delivering excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders. You are someone who sees the bigger picture — understanding how your work connects to the broader goals of the team and the organisation.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Banking, or Accounting, with a minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Accounts Payable, invoice handling, or T&E claims reimbursement
  • Solid understanding of core accounting principles, including balance sheet accounts, P&L accounts, control accounts, and the relationships between them
  • Strong knowledge of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, including end-to-end invoice processing workflows
  • Knowledge of GST/VAT, TDS, RCM, and other applicable tax regulations relevant to AP processing
  • Proficiency in MS Office and AI tools, with the ability to leverage technology to improve efficiency and accuracy

These are additional nice to haves:

  • Experience with SAP and/or Coupa — a definite advantage in hitting the ground running
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to engage confidently with global stakeholders
  • Familiarity with payment and banking processes such as Wires, ACH, SWIFT, Cheques, and Direct Debits
  • A proactive, self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn, grow, and take initiative
  • Strong team orientation — the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a high-performing team
  • Excellent client service mindset — understanding the needs of internal and external clients and consistently delivering high-quality outcomes
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to identify process gaps and propose practical improvements

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week.
