The Solution Architect is responsible for translating the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications, or process designs for very large complex technology solutions and architectures. You’ll act as an advocate for the client as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems. You’ll provide direction for design activities, often project-based, sometimes working at customer sites.

As a Solution Architect you’ll gather customer/partner insights from a broad range of stakeholders to shape and form both the definition and ongoing execution of projects. You’ll define and document the architecture to communicate the value proposition of the business solution along with the project approach. Collaborating with the Project Manager you’ll jointly drive project/technical governance of the design, build, and deployment into use. You’ll work with the business sponsor and customer/partner stakeholders to gather and ratify requirements and constraints and collaborating with the Account Team and/or Bid Team to understand the business solution/problem.  This role is flexible in that you can work up to 50% from home.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities - 

You will gather customer/partner insights from a broad range of stakeholders as well as the main business sponsor to shape and form both the definition and ongoing execution of projects and work with customer/partner stakeholders and business sponsor to socialize both the business solution and the project approach to determine if changes are needed to the business solution.
•    You will use evidence-based approach to represent the customer/partner as a customer advocate and share insights with Product Engineering teams and the business with a view to improving Microsoft technologies, products, services and offerings such that they can better meet customer/partner needs across a territory.
•    You will define and document the Architecture through an architecture description document, an architecture decisions log, and a requirements/constraints traceability matrix to communicate the value proposition of the business solution along with the project approach.
•    You will work with customers to understand and demonstrate business value (e.g., release of revenue, cost savings) that the business solution realizes and manage and resolve ambiguity in the requirements and constraints and documents assumptions and implications where it cannot be resolved.
•    You will generate new and/or improvements to existing intellectual property. Connects gaps and patterns across business and technology areas to drive changes. 
•    You will identify which ideas should be culled, with consideration for scale across customers and drive the re-use of intellectual property and recommends practices in both pre-sales and delivery as well as participate and contribute to internal/external communities.
•    You will lead virtual teams around technologies and customer/partner challenges by sharing ideas, insight, and strategic, technical input with technical teams, internal communities across the field and the larger virtual team across Microsoft using knowledge of Microsoft architectures and their context in the competitive landscape.

Technology Areas 

.NET Tools and Technologies – experience of leveraging the same and designing, implementing, and deploying Business Mission Critical applications. Expertise in leading and delivering digital transformation projects. Exceptional coding abilities and experience with architectural patterns for large, high-scale applications on cloud platforms with focus on performance and resiliency. Extensive experience in implementing, operating, customizing, tuning and troubleshooting large-scale Cloud solutions.  Full-stack developer with experience at many layers of the tech stack (native, web, service, UX, model, data) and good proficiency in one or more of C#, JavaScript, Typescript, AngularJS/ReactJS, HTML5, CSS/SCSS. Proven experience in creating reusable framework for application development addressing cross-cutting concerns. Excellence in software engineering practices, coding and solid foundation in data structures, algorithms with strong testing, debugging and analytical skills. Hands-on experience with multi-threaded/parallel programming, Application design patterns, and anti-patterns, such as MVC, CQRS and/or SAGA  Hands on experience with Application monitoring and end to end telemetry in the cloud. Proficient with one or more Cloud Databases such as Azure SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB  Hands-on experience in implementing micro-services architecture using technologies such as Kubernetes, Service Fabric, Cloud Foundry, Azure Functions Defining CI/CD pipelines to automate test and release across different application environments using concepts such as Blue/Green and Canary deployments and related technologies. Expertise in security controls such as encryption, AuthN/AuthZ Expertise in Zero-Trust framework, Secure by Default design, Identity and Access Management (IAM), cloud security architecture, compliance standards, threat modeling, DevSecOps, continuous security improvement. Knowledge of the least privilege access, assume breach, micro-segmentation, continuous monitoring and validation, strong authentication, endpoint security, automated security testing (SAST and DAST), secure CI/CD practices.Expertise with Tools such as Azure Sentinel, Splunk, Microsoft Threat Modeling Tool, Microsoft Defender for Cloud.Experience in Open-source technologies and frameworks are an added plus.  Prior experience in Cloud migration, Java, AWS or Google cloud is a definite plus. Knowledge of Azure AI Solutions, Azure AI Foundry, Semantic Kernel, GitHub Copilot, and LangChain will be considered a strong differentiator.Industry knowledge in one or more of the following industries: automotive, energy, travel and transportation, financial services, government, health, manufacturing, media & communications, or retail/supply chain.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 16+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain of Data & AI.
o    OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 16+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
o    OR equivalent experience
•    12+ years managing multiple projects or portfolios
•    2+ year(s) experience leading blended, multidisciplinary teams

•    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 16+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
o    OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field AND 16+ years experience in technology solutions, practice development, architecture, consulting, and/or technology domain (e.g., Security)
o    OR equivalent experience
•    6+ years technical sales experience
•    6+ years project management experience
o    Technical or Professional Certification in Domain
