TIBCO MDM Developer - Consultant
Consultant – TIBCO MDM Developer
Experience: 3–5 years
Key responsibilities Solution design and delivery
- Translate business requirements into MDM functional and technical designs, solution blueprints, and integration patterns.
- Model and configure domains, entities, hierarchies, taxonomies, and reference data in TIBCO MDM/EBX (preferably 8.x).
- Implement data quality, standardization, match/merge, and survivorship rules; tune thresholds and clerical review strategies.
- Configure and develop data stewardship workflows, task management, and user interfaces for data authoring and governance.
- Set up security models, roles, and permissions; ensure segregation of duties and least-privilege access.
Build and manage inbound/outbound integrations via REST/SOAP APIs, files/batches, and messaging (e.g., EMS/Kafka/JMS); collaborate with ESB/ETL teams (e.g., TIBCO BusinessWorks, Informatica, Talend).
- Optimize hub performance (indexing, caching, purge/archive strategies, batch tuning); perform capacity planning.
- Establish CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Maven) and environment promotion processes across Dev/Test/Prod.
- Create and maintain technical documentation (solution design, configuration, runbooks, interface specs).
- Partner with data governance to define data standards, business rules, and stewardship operating models.
- Coordinate testing (unit, SIT, UAT), test data management, and defect triage; drive root-cause analysis.
- Support production (L3), SLAs, and incident/problem management; implement monitoring and alerting.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years total experience in data management/engineering, with 2+ years hands-on in TIBCO MDM/EBX (8.x preferred).
- Strong understanding of MDM concepts: data modeling, golden record, match/merge, survivorship, hierarchy and reference data management, data stewardship, metadata.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database design (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL); experience with performance tuning.
- Hands-on with REST/SOAP API development and consumption; JSON/XML; integration patterns.
- Experience with at least one integration/ETL stack (e.g., TIBCO BusinessWorks 6.x, EMS; Informatica; Talend).
- Practical experience with CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and environment promotion.
- Solid Agile/Scrum delivery experience using tools like Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- TIBCO EBX/MDM certification(s) or equivalent vendor credentials.
- Experience implementing stewardship workflows, business rules, and UI customizations using Java/Groovy/JavaScript within EBX.
- Exposure to data quality tools (e.g., Trillium, Informatica DQ, Talend DQ) and governance/catalog platforms (e.g., Collibra, Alation).
- Cloud experience (Azure/AWS/GCP) with data services such as ADLS/S3, ADF/Glue, Databricks/EMR; containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Domain experience in one or more industries (Financial Services, Retail/CPG, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Energy).
- Prior consulting/professional services background and client-facing delivery experience.
Education and certifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Preferred: TIBCO EBX/MDM certification; Agile/Scrum certification (PSM/CSM); cloud certifications (e.g., Azure/AWS).
