Overview


Responsibilities

• Work with appropriate stakeholders to determine user and system requirements for a set of features. 
• Contribute to identifying dependencies and developing design documents for a product area with little oversight. 
• Create, implement, test, debug, and reuse code for a product, service, platform, or feature. 
• Contribute to breaking down larger work items into smaller work items and provide estimates. 
• Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) in on-call rotations to monitor services for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gain approval to restore service for simple problems. 
• Remain current in relevant technologies and practices that improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, performance, monitoring, and operations at scale. 

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or preferred qualifications

Other Requirements: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field AND 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
  • OR equivalent experience. 
• Experience developing, testing, or operating distributed cloud services, platform infrastructure, or data-intensive systems. 
• Enthusiastic about building products in AI-native way by applying generative AI, large language models, agentic workflows, and responsible AI practices to deliver intuitive, reliable, and measurable customer experiences.
