We are seeking a talented individual to join our Global commercial Insights & Analytics team at Marsh This role will be based in Mumbai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Job Title: Senior Principal Engineer - Data Science

We will count on you to:

• Collaborate with international stakeholders to align analyses with business objectives.

• Manage large, complex datasets and implement process improvements for scalability and automation.

• Use Python for data gathering, analysis, and modeling to derive actionable insights.

• Demonstrate strong database management skills, writing intermediate to complex SQL queries.

• Work on prescriptive analysis using Data Science techniques to forecast sales and opportunities.

• Utilize data visualization techniques to clearly communicate insights.

• Design and implement AI workflows and API integrations to solve business problems.

• Manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, demonstrating effective prioritization and time management.

• Communicate complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.

What you need to have: 

• Minimum 12 months experience as Principal Engineer - Data Science (C2) / Senior Principal Engineer - Data Science (D1)

• Should have at least “On-Track” or equivalent rating in last appraisal.

• Should not be under any Performance Counselling Plan or had any official disciplinary action within the last 3 months.

• Should not have applied for any other IJP in the last 3 months.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Analytics, or a related field, or a Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Applications, IT, Business Analytics, or any discipline.

• 3-5 years of progressive experience mining large complex data sets, using a variety of advanced quantitative/modelling techniques Strong knowledge of statistical concepts and their application in data analysis.

• Strong technical expertise with building data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques using Python/ R

• Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud platforms is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills

• Synthesis skills- Ability to connect the dots and answer the business question.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
