Job Description

Assistant Manager

The key outcome of the role will be the ownership and management of the full lifecycle delivery of learning and development projects, from initial scoping through to implementation and closure. The individual will deliver projects to defined quality standards, ensuring outputs meet both learner and business expectations. The role holder will achieve this by:

 

•Leading end-to-end project delivery by orchestrating strategic resource allocation, mitigating operational risks, and maintaining strict financial discipline to ensure all milestones are met in a structured project plan
•
•Orchestrating cross-functional delivery teams, spanning design, development, and testing, while managing key relationships with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to drive the successful achievement of strategic priorities
•
•Managing end-to-end project governance, implementing rigorous reporting standards and risk management protocols to ensure transparency, operational efficiency, and decisive escalation of blockers to senior leadership.
•
•Overseeing and managing all administrative aspects of project delivery, including documentation, scheduling, resource coordination and reporting
•
•Acting as the conduit between stakeholders and delivery teams, driving clarity and consistency of project requirements and ensuring delivery of the expected quality
•
•Implementing a continuous improvement cycle for project delivery. Proactively identifying opportunities through data analysis and proven methodologies to enhance and maintain quality standards, budget adherence, and scope integrity.
•
•Influence and align diverse stakeholders with competing priorities
•
•Translate business requirements into clear delivery plans
•
•Manage expectations across complex and fast-moving project environments

•Proven experience of simultaneously managing end to end complex multi-disciplinary projects with differing timelines, commitments and delivery outcomes
•Previous exposure of building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders including managing logistical and delivery expectations
•Demonstrated capability of managing multiple projects across numerous different specialisms with conflicting demands, priorities and stakeholders whilst maintaining delivery excellence
•Experience of working within a multi-faceted organisation and navigating evolving global and cross-functional teams and learning requirements
•Proven track record of delivering complex projects in scope, on time and in budget
•Experience in designing, optimising and embedding comprehensive governance and reporting structures ensuring quality delivery and compliance alongside trusted escalation routes and management
•Deep understanding of established project management methodologies and the ability to mould project delivery accordingly
•Demonstrable exposure to line managing others or leading a high performing team

Desirable Skills and Experience

 

•Formal Project Management certification
•Previous experience in a learning or training delivery environment
•Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and learning processes
•Ability to deliver in both a diverse team environment and maintain a demanding individual workload
•Experience of working in a global delivery centre or offshore delivery environment
•Previous experience of mentoring and developing team members to promote high performance and knowledge sharing
