We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Summary:

Join our Sales Technologies team as a Senior Software Engineer supporting technology solutions that enable sales and servicing functions. You will design and develop scalable backend services, microservices, and APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and modern cloud technologies. You’ll collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, and engineering partners to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions and smooth production releases. The role also emphasizes modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development using tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code to accelerate development, testing, automation, and engineering productivity.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

• Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles.
• Advises immediate management on project-level issues
• Guides junior engineers
• Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices
• Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Strong hands-on experience with server-side Java, Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, REST APIs, Maven, and open-source Java libraries.
• Experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale backend services and microservices.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with GCP or comparable cloud platforms and containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as Harness.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and modern software-testing practices.
• Experience with distributed caching technologies such as Redis and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience participating in large-scale production releases across the full SDLC.
• Familiarity with MCPs and AI application development is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Additional Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services, microservices, and RESTful APIs using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RxJava, JPA, and Hibernate.
• Contribute to technical design and architecture discussions, applying established design patterns and microservices best practices.
• Develop API-first solutions using OpenAPI/Swagger and work with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Build automated unit and functional tests using frameworks such as TestNG, with a focus on code quality and maintainability.
• Use AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code for development, test-case generation, test-data setup, and engineering automation.
• Support CI/CD and cloud deployments using GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Harness, and GCP.
• Troubleshoot application defects and performance bottlenecks and apply optimization techniques, including caching and Redis.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UI/UX, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams in an Agile environment.
• Plan and coordinate software releases with domain teams and support applications in production.
