Job Purpose:
Responsible for driving commercial synergies and cost-saving initiatives and leading the strategic management of contracts, ensuring robust administration, and safeguarding the company's interests through effective documentation and dispute resolution. This role encompasses the development of risk management strategies across the project lifecycle and the cultivation of a skilled team capable of independent operation.
Contract Administration & Documentation:
- Oversee and ensure efficient contract administration with clients and EPC contractors, maintaining effective correspondence and documentation.
- Review and supervise all contractual correspondence to ensure that the company's interests are protected and views are recorded in case of contentious issues.
- Develop and implement systems, procedures, and methodologies for effective contract administration, including Monthly Contracts Monitoring (MIS) reports.
- Ensure that the function's activities align with the strategic direction of the company, recognizing priorities, dependencies, and critical paths for integrated planning
Claims & Dispute Management:
- Manage claims with clients and contractors to maximize inflows and minimize outflows for the company.
- Review critical letters and documents such as claims, applications for extension of time, delay analysis, and change of scope to protect the company's interests.
- Ensure timely submission of notices, Notice of Disputes
- Prepare statements of claims and rejoinders if matters are referred to dispute/arbitration.
- Defend against claims from EPC contractors, ensuring the company's position is safeguarded.
- Proficently able to work with the latest technology contracts, such as blockchain, smart contracts and AI.
Risk Management:
- Develop an objective risk identification and mitigation framework for the entire project lifecycle and ensure its implementation in decision-making.
- Put in place a strong commercial risk monitoring and mitigation framework governing all business aspects from bidding to execution, operation, and maintenance.
- Ensure due Diligence of bid documents and/or M&A related documents in case of bidding for the new Projects/ Merger and Acquisition of other Entities.
Team Development & Leadership:
- Build a strong team and develop competencies at both site and head office levels to encourage independent issue handling.
- Drive synergies across teams, leveraging individual strengths to achieve functional goals.
- Foster a culture of agility, flexibility, and responsiveness to meet upcoming challenges.
Training & Quality Assurance:
- Conduct at least one internal training annually on related subjects, key learnings, or case studies.
- Ensure that quality and safety-related correspondences are prioritized and responded to in a timely manner.
