TECHNICIAN

Job Purpose
To support the safe, efficient and quality execution of transmission line construction activities, including tower erection, stringing and associated works, in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, safety standards and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute transmission line construction activities as per approved drawings, work instructions and project schedules.
• Carry out tower erection activities, including material handling, assembly, alignment and erection of tower members.
• Assist in conductor, stringing activities.
• Support installation of insulators, clamps, spacers, dampers and other transmission line hardware.
• Ensure proper identification, handling and installation of tower members and line materials.
• Use hand tools, tackles, measuring instruments and other equipment safely and effectively.
• Conduct basic inspection of tools, tackles and equipment before use and report defects to the supervisor.
• Follow approved construction methodology, quality standards and inspection requirements.
• Maintain proper housekeeping at the work location and ensure materials are stored safely.
• Coordinate with supervisors, riggers, helpers and other site teams for smooth execution of activities.
• Immediately report unsafe conditions, quality issues, material shortages or deviations to the concerned supervisor.
• Follow all EHS requirements, including PPE usage, work-at-height safety, lifting safety and safe working practices.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and skill-development sessions.
• Maintain daily work records and provide necessary inputs to supervisors regarding progress and site issues.
• Perform other transmission-line-related activities assigned by the Site Engineer / Supervisor.
