The Role

As an Mechanical Engineer with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering activities related to static equipment for thermal, combined-cycle, biomass, waste-to-energy, and utility power generation facilities.
• Design and specify:
  • Heat Exchangers
  • Pressure Vessels
  • Storage Tanks
  • Silos
  • Ducts
  • Stack and Chimney Associated Mechanical Items
  • Water Treatment Static Equipment
• Prepare equipment specifications, datasheets, calculations, and requisitions.
• Develop Material Requisitions, TBE, and procurement documentation.
• Review vendor drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Perform equipment sizing verification and design review.
• Coordinate with stress, layout, piping, civil, electrical, and process disciplines.
• Participate in model reviews and interdisciplinary design reviews.
• Support fabrication, inspection, testing, installation, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with project and statutory requirements.

About You 

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 15+ years experience in power projects.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • ASME Section VIII
  • TEMA
  • API 650/620
  • EN standards
  • Utility and customer standards
• Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering.
• Knowledge of material selection and pressure equipment design.
• Good understanding of steam cycle systems, BOP systems, and water treatment facilities.
• Ability to assess reliability, maintainability, operability, efficiency, noise/vibration, utility consumption and access requirements for power plant packages.
• Ownership mindset to drive assigned packages to closure with proactive follow-up and transparent progress reporting.
• Ability to prioritize critical vendor documents and procurement actions while maintaining quality and schedule discipline.
• Collaborative approach with openness to peer review comments, lessons learned and standardization opportunities.
• Strong written communication for technical clarifications, review comments, minutes and decision records.
• Openness to peer review, mentoring of junior engineers and sharing of reusable standards /checklists.
