About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT&D Manager – Azure DevSecOps engineer to join our global Cloud Platform team. This is a senior, hands-on technical role combining responsibilities of a Senior Cloud Engineer and DevSecOps/Security Engineer, focused on the design, implementation, security, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise Azure cloud platforms.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and operating Azure platform capabilities using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), driving cloud security best practices, embedding security into the software delivery lifecycle, and ensuring governance and compliance across the Azure estate. As a senior member of the team, the role also includes mentoring colleagues, collaborating across globally distributed teams, and supporting operational excellence as part of an L4 engineering function.

Your responsibilities

Azure Platform Engineering

•    Design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale Azure cloud platforms and services.
•    Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ARM/Bicep, and Azure-native tooling.
•    Implement cloud architecture patterns that deliver scalability, resilience, security, and operational efficiency.
•    Automate provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational processes.
•    Contribute to platform engineering standards, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps.
•    Support onboarding of applications and workloads onto Azure platform services.

DevSecOps & Cloud Security

•    Embed security controls and practices across the software development and delivery lifecycle.
•    Design and maintain security guardrails for Azure workloads and platform services.
•    Manage and optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), and threat protection capabilities.
•    Define and implement Azure governance frameworks using:
o    Azure Policy
o    Management Groups
o    Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
o    Landing Zones
o    Compliance and regulatory controls

•    Drive remediation of security findings, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps.
•    Implement and maintain security benchmarks and standards (e.g., Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark, CIS Azure Foundations Benchmark, industry best practices).
•    Partner with security, architecture, and engineering teams to continuously improve cloud security posture.

DevOps & Automation

•    Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and related tooling.
•    Integrate security controls, scans, and compliance checks into deployment pipelines.
•    Promote Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, and automation-first operating models.
•    Support development teams in adopting DevSecOps practices and secure engineering standards.
•    Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies to improve platform capabilities and developer experience.

Operations & Service Management

•    Participate as a member of the L4 support team for Azure platform services, including ticket dispatching and resolution activities.
•    Occasionally perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
•    Collaborate with support and operations teams to maintain platform reliability and service excellence.
•    Contribute to operational documentation, knowledge management, and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Leadership & Collaboration

•    Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers within the team.
•    Support capability development through coaching, knowledge sharing, and best practices.
•    Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Europe, India, and other global locations.
•    Participate in Agile delivery frameworks, including Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid operating models.
•    Influence technical decisions and contribute to strategic cloud transformation initiatives.

The experience we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
•    8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or cloud security roles. Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure. 
•    Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, ARM) and Azure security best practices.
•    Strong understanding of: Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, RBAC and Privileged Access Management, Cloud Governance, Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL), Security by Design principles, Vulnerability management
•    Experience implementing cloud security controls and compliance frameworks.
•    Knowledge of cloud security benchmarks and industry standards. 
•    Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-305, AZ-500, AZ-400, AZ-104) – nice o have.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
