Job Title: Technologist – Calypso Functional Analyst

Location: Bangalore/ Mumbai

Overview

Join the Transformation Office and play a critical role in driving front-to-back Calypso platform initiatives aligned with business, technology, and regulatory priorities. As a Technologist - Calypso Functional Analyst, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders, trading teams, operations, risk, and technology teams to deliver strategic transformation programs, optimize Calypso capabilities, and ensure scalable, compliant solutions across capital markets and treasury functions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Calypso Functional Leadership

• Lead functional analysis and solution design for Calypso platform enhancements and transformation initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, workflows, and system configurations.
• Drive front-to-back process optimization across Trade Capture, Confirmation, Settlement, Collateral, Risk, and Accounting modules.

2. Business & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Technology teams to understand business requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders across multiple business domains.
• Ensure alignment between business objectives and Calypso platform capabilities.

3. Requirement Analysis & Solution Design

• Conduct impact assessments for new business requirements, regulatory changes, and system upgrades.
• Define target-state operating models and functional designs leveraging Calypso best practices.
• Work closely with development teams to clarify requirements and validate solution approaches.

4. Delivery & Agile Execution

• Support Agile delivery methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, user story creation, and functional prioritization.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Track delivery milestones, dependencies, and implementation progress.

5. Testing & Release Management

• Define test scenarios, review test cases, and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Validate end-to-end business processes across trading, settlements, payments, risk, and accounting workflows.
• Support release planning, production deployments, and post-implementation validations.

6. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

• Act as the primary functional point of contact for business users and technology teams.
• Engage with senior stakeholders to provide updates on project progress, risks, and solution outcomes.
• Coordinate with Calypso product teams and external vendors when required.

7. Regulatory, Risk & Controls

• Ensure Calypso solutions comply with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and governance standards.
• Support audit, compliance, and risk management initiatives.
• Partner with control functions to address operational and regulatory obligations.

8. Continuous Improvement & Transformation

• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through process automation and workflow optimization.
• Recommend platform improvements and strategic enhancements to maximize Calypso adoption and business value.
• Contribute to transformation roadmaps and modernization initiatives across capital markets technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Calypso Functional Analyst, Business Analyst, or Solution Consultant within Capital Markets, Treasury, Investment Banking, or Financial Services environments.
• Strong functional knowledge of Calypso modules including Trade Capture, Settlements, Confirmations, Payments, Collateral Management, Risk Management, and Accounting.
• Experience with Fixed Income, FX, Money Market, Derivatives, Repo, Securities Financing, or Structured Products.
• Strong understanding of front-to-back trade lifecycle processes.
• Experience working within Agile delivery environments using Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and business analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex transformation programs.
• Experience supporting regulatory, risk, and compliance initiatives within financial institutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Calypso implementation, upgrade, migration, or transformation programs.
• Knowledge of Capital Markets architecture, APIs, integration patterns, and downstream systems.
• Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools.
• Understanding of market regulations and operational risk frameworks.
• Certifications in Agile, Business Analysis, or Capital Markets technologies are preferred.
