Job Description

Director Product Management, Digital Project Delivery

Job Description: Director, Product Management Digital Project Delivery

At Trimble, we are not just building software; we are orchestrating the digital transformation of the world's most critical infrastructure projects. We are moving beyond traditional project management to define a new standard where data-driven insights and AI agents bridge the gap between design and physical reality.

As our Director of Product Management, you won’t just be managing a roadmap—you will be the architect of a new way of working. You will lead a high-performing organization through an "AI-native" evolution, setting the standard for how the construction and infrastructure industries leverage intelligence to deliver value. If you are a builder who thrives on complexity, believes in the power of agentic AI to change what we build as much as how we build it, and wants to leave a permanent mark on how the world constructs its future, this is the role for you.

Job Summary:  The Director of Product Management is responsible for the financial health (ARR, Churn, Contribution Margin) of their portfolio.  You will create, refine and execute the global product vision and strategy for your market segment.  This role ensures highest-quality product management across the end-to-end lifecycle and identifies market opportunities through deep segmentation and competitive intelligence.   You will lead the re-skilling of your organization from traditional PMs into AI native Product Definers. You will move your team away from "Agile human-centric coordination" to a model where humans assist agents in orchestrating software delivery.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1. Multi-Generation Capability Roadmap & Vision

  • Define a business area vision and multi-generation roadmap that supports the  Trimble Unity  and broader Trimble platform strategy.
  • Evolve your business area’s roadmap from a list of features to a series of agentic capabilities that leverage our centralized context layer.  Ensure all products are "AI-ready," with robust APIs and documentation that support the centralized context layer.
  • Regularly update the roadmap based on customer insights, market data, and the competitive landscape to maintain a "best-in-class" position.
  • Organize and advocate for the R&D and product resources necessary to achieve long-term business objectives.

2. Strategic Marketing, Market Research & AI Insights

  • Drive continuous Voice of the Customer (VoC) activities and market research to validate segmentation and identify emerging customer needs.   Mandate the use of AI to conduct and analyze Voice of the Customer (VoC) activities, validating market segmentation and customer requirements with higher precision.
  • Understand Total Addressable Market (TAM) and Potential Addressable Market (PAM) analysis to identify untapped growth areas within the business area.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, points of differentiation, and the willingness to pay for new AI-powered solutions.
  • Promote cross-organizational sharing through user groups, webinars, and internal forums to evangelize the business area strategy.

3. GTM Definition & Product-Led Growth

  • Clearly define the business model and demonstrable ROI for customers using business area solutions.
  • Lead projects with Product Marketing and Sales to drive new pricing models and adapt product bundles
  • Direct the creation of AI-driven prototypes and POCs to rapidly drive user validation and test new business opportunities.

4.  Leadership and AI-Native Talent Development

  • Champion the strategic evolution of the product organization, transitioning the team toward a high-leverage model focused on portfolio strategy and market-leading customer outcomes.
  • Cultivate an innovative, high-performance culture that rewards rapid experimentation and the fearless adoption of transformative agentic AI technologies to drive competitive advantage.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse organization of product leaders, ensuring effective lifecycle management of complex SaaS portfolios from conception through global launch.
  • Establish cross-functional relationships and remove organizational obstacles to ensure the long-term commercial success and operational excellence of the business area.

5. Portfolio Metrics and Product Analytics

  • Own the key performance indicators for the business area, including revenue, bookings, churn and contribution margin.
  • Partner with Engineering and Business Operations to create new usage metrics and product analytics that drive continuous learning.
  • Devise and run experiments to measure demand and test business model performance.

6. Operating Model & Culture

  • Shift the team from "Agile human-centric coordination" to an "Agent-led, human-assisted orchestration" model, utilizing AI agents for end-to-end software delivery orchestration.
  • Standardize the production of hyper-granular "Gold-Standard" specifications, including logic and Acceptance Criteria (AC) that enable downstream automation of engineering and QA.
  • Mandate the use of agentic tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude) to build working prototypes for user validation, ensuring all AI usage is ethical, secure, and compliant with data privacy standards.

Success Metrics:

  • Business Area bookings growth and churn reduction

  • 100% of the team transitioned to Product Definer certification

  • Achievement of "AI-Ready" status for all core business area assets (APIs, Context Layer integration).
