We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and system functions that support critical business operations. The role involves managing batch jobs, troubleshooting complex issues, and delivering scalable technical solutions while actively leveraging AI tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, and other generative AI platforms to accelerate development and drive innovation. The engineer will collaborate with stakeholders across all stages of the software development lifecycle — from requirements gathering and solution design to testing, deployment, and performance optimization — applying AI-assisted practices to enhance productivity and quality at every phase. Key responsibilities include building and refining prompts for code generation, documentation, and test automation, integrating AI APIs and third-party services into existing systems, and designing AI agent workflows that automate multi-step engineering tasks. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong autonomy, a continuous learning mindset, and a commitment to responsible AI adoption — balancing innovation with data security, ethical considerations, and compliance standards — while mentoring peers on AI-era engineering practices and contributing to the team's AI governance framework.

Scope of Work – Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain applications, processes, and functions, incorporating AI-assisted development practices where applicable.
• Manage and schedule batch jobs using appropriate tools, identifying opportunities for intelligent automation and AI-driven orchestration.
• Diagnose issues and deliver effective resolutions, leveraging AI tools to accelerate troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and recommend suitable technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.
• Estimate timelines and track progress against milestones, using data-driven insights to improve accuracy.
• Engage in all stages of the software development lifecycle, applying generative AI and prompt engineering techniques to enhance productivity across each phase.
• Adhere to programming standards set by both clients and internal teams, including secure and responsible AI usage guidelines.
• Conduct unit testing for new developments and system enhancements, utilizing AI-assisted testing tools to improve coverage and efficiency.
• Partner with QA to validate deliverables, supporting AI-driven quality assurance practices.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to peers on AI-era engineering practices and emerging tools.
• Continuously monitor and optimize application performance, applying AI-powered analytics to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
• Stay current with evolving AI technologies and proactively integrate them into workflows.
• Demonstrate autonomy while contributing to team objectives and managing multiple tasks effectively.
• Build and refine prompts for generative AI tools to automate code generation, documentation, test case creation, and code review, reducing manual effort across the development cycle.
• Evaluate and select AI tools and models appropriate to specific engineering tasks, balancing performance, cost, and responsible use considerations.
• Integrate AI APIs and third-party AI services (such as LLMs, vector databases, and embedding models) into existing systems and workflows.
• Apply AI-assisted code review practices to catch security vulnerabilities, performance anti-patterns, and maintainability issues earlier in the development process.
• Design and implement AI agent workflows that automate multi-step engineering tasks, including monitoring, alerting, and self-healing processes.
• Contribute to the team's AI governance practices by documenting AI usage, flagging risks related to data privacy and model bias, and ensuring outputs meet quality and compliance standards.
• Champion a culture of responsible AI adoption — balancing speed of innovation with ethical considerations, data security, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete all assigned, mandatory training within the timeframe provided
• Conduct and/or participate in regularly scheduled 1:1 meetings with direct manager and/or direct reports
