Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Assembly Fitter responsible for assembling mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and finished products as per engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.

• Key Responsibilities
• Assemble mechanical components, machines, and sub-assemblies as per drawings and work instructions.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, and basic measurements.
• Perform fitting operations such as cutting, drilling, grinding, filing, tapping, and alignment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
• Check component dimensions and ensure proper fitment and alignment.
• Identify and rectify assembly-related defects and fitting issues.
• Maintain required quality standards and production targets.
• Follow standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and 5S practices.
• Coordinate with supervisors, production teams, and quality personnel to resolve assembly issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in clean and safe condition.
• Report material shortages, quality problems, or machine/assembly issues to the supervisor.
• Required Skills
• Good knowledge of mechanical assembly and fitting work.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical/engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of basic measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, measuring tape, and gauges.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
• Good understanding of alignment, tolerance, clearance, and fitment.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical assembly problems.
• Knowledge of workplace safety and 5S.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Educational Qualification
• ITI – Fitter / Mechanical Trade preferred.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering may be an added advantage.
• Experience
• 1–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly/fitting.
• Fresh ITI candidates with good practical skills may also be considered.
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Assembly completion as per production schedule.
• Quality and accuracy of assembly.
• Reduction in rework and assembly defects.
• Compliance with safety and 5S requirements.
• Proper handling and maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to handle mechanical components and tools.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing/production environment and in shifts, if required.
