ROLE DESCRIPTION

& OBJECTIVES

·        

Production manager is responsible for the

technical management, supervision and control of industrial production

processes.

·        

The production head’s main function is to ensure

the efficient and timely production of goods. To plan, organize and control

production in an organization to ensure that goods are produced efficiently,

on time, within budget and to standard.

·        

Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the

process; setting processing variables; observing control points and

equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing

cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating

corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and

fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

·        

Maintains safe and clean work environment by

educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points,

equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies

and procedures.

OVERALL

RESPONSIBILITIES

[1.] Planning

·        

Receive SO (Sales

Order) from Sales & Mktg. Dept. which contains details of valves to be

produced as per customer’s demand and criterias.

·        

Receive work order

& job card from planning department and file into respective file. (Files

– Work Order, Job Card) or Receive work order from Design Department which

contains details about which parts and materials are required to produce

valves as per customer’s demand and criterias. It shows list of items

required for production, items available and not available in stock

(Shortage).

·        

Get material from

stores as per the work order and & follow up with planning department for

procuring shortage material.

·        

Plan for assembly

of material available and plan for machining process to prepare material

which is not available.

·        

Get design of

product from design department and collect Job Card from planning department for

machining process if machining is to be done in-house.

·        

If machining is to

be done externally, then Job Card is prepared by Planning Dept.

[2.] Production

·        

Give materials to

Machine shop and CNC shop with job card for machining process.

·        

Instruct CNC

Machine Supervisor to get machining done as per the job card within

stipulated time.

·        

Instruct Lathe

Machine Operators to machine the materials as per job card within stipulated

time.

·        

Offer machined

material to Q.C. Department for quality check & get approval of quality

as per the design.

·        

Get machined

material from stores dept. through outward entry as per bill of materials.

·        

Give materials with

job card to assembly shop for assembling process as per sales order.

·        

Carry out

stage-wise inspection as per the procedure.

·        

After assembling,

carry out testing process for assembled valves.

·        

After testing,

offer ready material to QC department for quality checking.

·        

Give checked valves

to painting department for painting process.

·        

Check the painting,

take photo and offer painted valves to Q.C. Department for quality check.

·        

After quality

check, get the labeling done.

·        

Send material to

packing department for packing and also get the inspection done by Q.C.

Department.  Take the photo of valve

after inspection.

·        

Close the order

& give to planning department (Submit Job Card, Issue Slip, Sales Order

to Director (Ops & Services)

[3.] Work Reporting, Review & Analysis

·        

Prepare Daily Working Report &

send to seniors before leaving the office.

·        

Participate in weekly review meeting

with seniors for work done during the week.

·        

Prepare Analysis reports Quarterly

& Presentation to the Management with suggestions and initiatives to get

better results.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

a)    Qualifications

Diploma

or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineer

b)    Experience

For Diploma - 5

years of experience

For Bachelor Degree

– 2-3 years of experience

Candidate must have

experience of sales in engineering products like valves, compressors,

pumps or any other type of mechanical products

Demonstrated

experience of handling key clients and projects

c)    Salary Band

CTC of INR 2 lacs

per annum plus incentives. Salary is no bar for the right candidate
