About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Mechanical Draftsman to join our Design & Engineering team in Kubadthal, Ahmedabad.

The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, component drawings, assembly drawings, fabrication drawings, and manufacturing drawings for elevator systems and related mechanical components.

The role requires practical knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks, along with a good understanding of mechanical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, sheet metal/fabrication requirements, and manufacturing processes such as laser cutting.

The candidate will work closely with the Design, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure drawings are accurate, technically feasible, and ready for manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing & DesignPrepare detailed 2D mechanical drawings and 3D models for elevators and elevator components.

• Create component, assembly, fabrication, and manufacturing drawings.
• Convert engineering concepts and project requirements into accurate technical drawings.
• Add appropriate dimensions, tolerances, annotations, material specifications, and manufacturing details.
• Modify and update existing drawings based on design changes and project requirements.
• Manufacturing & Fabrication DrawingsPrepare production-ready drawings for laser cutting, fabrication, sheet metal work, and assembly.
• Specify dimensions, hole locations, cutting details, materials, and other manufacturing requirements.
• Coordinate with the production team to resolve drawing-related issues.
• Incorporate production feedback and make necessary drawing revisions.
• AutoCAD & SolidWorksCreate and modify 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop 3D mechanical models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Maintain proper drawing formats, revisions, file structures, and documentation.
• Follow applicable engineering drawing and drafting standards.
• CoordinationCoordinate with Design, Engineering, Production, and other relevant teams.
• Understand technical requirements provided by senior engineers/designers.
• Discuss design and drafting issues and support suitable modifications.
• Ensure assigned drawings and design work are completed within timelines.
• Quality & DocumentationCheck drawings for accuracy before releasing them for manufacturing.
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, specifications, and material details.
• Identify and correct drafting/design errors.
• Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, and design changes.
• Organize CAD files and technical documentation for future reference.
• Prepare basic documentation and reports using Microsoft Excel and Word, when required.

Education & Experience

Education:

• ITI in Mechanical or a related technical field, or
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in mechanical drafting/design.
• Experience in elevator, fabrication, sheet metal, manufacturing, engineering, or industrial design will be preferred.
• Freshers with strong practical knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks may also be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: ₹15,000–₹20,000 per month

Salary may be higher for candidates with strong technical knowledge, relevant experience, and demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
