Senior Mechanical Engineer For Chemical Plant

Job DescriptionKiri Industries Limited is looking for an experienced and technically competent Senior Mechanical Engineer for its chemical manufacturing plant.

The candidate will be responsible for managing all maintenance activities, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing plant downtime, and supporting safe and efficient plant operations.

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of overall experience in mechanical engineering, including at least 5 years in a senior-level position in a chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing industry.

• Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities of the chemical plant.
• Ensure proper maintenance and smooth operation of pumps, compressors, reactors, agitators, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, pipelines, and other plant equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
• Identify equipment failures, troubleshoot mechanical problems, and implement corrective actions.
• Plan and execute plant shutdown, turnaround, and annual maintenance activities.
• Supervise mechanical installation, commissioning, and modification of plant machinery.
• Coordinate with production, electrical, instrumentation, safety, and project departments.
• Ensure proper implementation of mechanical safety procedures, Permit to Work (PTW), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Monitor equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance costs.
• Manage mechanical maintenance teams, technicians, and contractors.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and coordinate with procurement and vendors.
• Maintain equipment history, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards, plant safety requirements, and statutory regulations.
• Required Qualifications & ExperienceB.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of overall experience in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Mechanical Engineer or equivalent senior-level position.
• Experience in chemical, petrochemical, or process manufacturing plants is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance of rotating and static equipment.
• Experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, and shutdown planning.
• Proven experience in team handling and contractor management.
• Good troubleshooting, planning, coordination, and leadership skills.
