Job Description
Key responsibilities
- Support the Production Manager in planning and running daily production
- Take charge of the plant in day or night shifts when required, and stand in for the Production Manager when away
- Allocate work to supervisors, chemists and operators; check shift rosters are covered
- Monitor column operation, batch progress, yields and losses across shifts
- Make sure every batch follows its SOP and batch record; review log sheets daily
- Coordinate with QC on sampling, cut changes and batch release
- Coordinate with stores on raw material line-up and with dispatch on finished goods
- Handle shift-level breakdowns and abnormal conditions with maintenance; escalate when needed
- Enforce safety rules on the floor: PPE, permits, earthing, solvent handling
- Train supervisors and operators on operations and SOPs
- Prepare daily production reports and support monthly MIS
Skills
- Strong hands-on solvent plant operation and distillation under vacuum
- Shift leadership and quick decision making at night without senior cover
- Process troubleshooting and yield control
- Good with Excel and production reporting
- Marathi/Hindi; English for reports
