Job Description
Job Opening: South Indian Cook (Pune)Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Industry: Hotels / Restaurants / QSR

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare idli, dosa, vada, uttapam, pongal, upma, sambar, rasam, and chutneys
- Prepare and ferment idli/dosa batter daily with consistent quality
- Cook South Indian rice varieties and meals-style curries (kootu, poriyal, avial)
- Grind fresh masalas and coconut pastes; handle tempering for authentic taste
- Maintain portion control, taste consistency, and presentation
- Plan daily prep, check stock, and raise indents on time
- Follow FSSAI hygiene and food safety standards
- Minimise wastage and control food cost
- Lead and train helpers; coordinate with the kitchen team during peak hours
Requirements
- 8 to 10+ years of experience preferred as a South Indian cook or head cook
- Strong knowledge of batter making and traditional recipes
- Experience managing a South Indian kitchen independently
- Able to work in shifts and handle rush hours
- Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam is a plus
Salary: ₹40,000 to ₹45,000 per month
Benefits: Food and accommodation can be added if the client provides them.
