CNC Operator

1. Job Purpose

1. To operate and monitor CNC machines equipped with GSK controllers, ensuring accurate machining, adherence to production targets, product quality, and compliance with safety standards.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesOperate CNC machines equipped with GSK controllers as per approved work instructions and production requirements.
3. Read and understand engineering drawings, component specifications, and machining instructions.
4. Set up machines, including tool installation, workpiece loading, and work offset adjustments.
5. Enter, operate, and make necessary program adjustments on the GSK CNC controller as authorized.
6. Perform tool setting, tool offset correction, and tool change activities.
7. Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
8. Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and gauges for in-process inspection.
9. Identify machining defects, tool wear, machine abnormalities, and dimensional deviations.
10. Maintain production output as per daily targets and prescribed quality standards.
11. Follow approved CNC programs and ensure correct selection of tools, workpieces, and machining parameters.
12. Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S practices at the workstation.

Required Qualifications:

1. ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
2. Relevant technical training in CNC machining will be an advantage.

Required Experience:

1. Experience: 2–5 years in CNC machine operation.
2. Hands-on experience operating CNC machines with GSK controllers.
3. Practical knowledge of machine setting, tool offsets, and dimensional inspection.
4. Experience in CNC production within a manufacturing environment.

Required Skills:

1. Good knowledge of GSK CNC controller operation.
2. Understanding of CNC machining processes and basic G-code / M-code.
3. Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
