Production Supervisor

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Plan daily production activities according to customer orders and delivery schedules.
• Allocate jobs to welders, fitters, fabricators and helpers.
• Ensure production targets are achieved within the specified timeline.
• Monitor work progress and avoid unnecessary production delays.

2. Manpower Management

• Assign daily duties to workers according to their skills and experience.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, discipline and productivity.
• Ensure proper utilization of manpower and working hours.
• Coordinate with workers to resolve production-related issues.

3. Fabrication Work Supervision

• Supervise cutting, bending, fitting, welding, grinding, assembly and finishing operations.
• Ensure fabrication work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Check dimensions, alignment, fit-up, welding quality and assembly accuracy.
• Coordinate with CNC/VMC operators and other departments whenever required.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure material and components meet the required specifications.
• Inspect work at every important stage of production.
• Identify defects and arrange corrective action.
• Minimize material wastage, rework and rejection.
• Coordinate with the quality department for final inspection.

5. Material & Inventory Management

• Check the availability of raw materials, consumables and fabrication accessories.
• Ensure proper utilization of MS plates, sheets, sections, pipes and other materials.
• Maintain records of material consumption, scrap and wastage.
• Inform management about material shortages before they affect production.

6. Safety & Housekeeping

• Ensure workers follow welding, grinding, cutting and lifting safety procedures.
• Ensure proper use of PPE, including helmets, gloves, safety shoes and eye protection.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper arrangement of the production area.
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment problems and workplace incidents.

7. Machine & Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure machines and tools are used correctly.
• Monitor the condition of welding machines, cutting equipment, grinders and other tools.
• Report breakdowns and coordinate preventive maintenance.
• Minimize machine downtime and production interruptions.

8. Production Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare daily production reports.
• Maintain job-wise records of production quantity, manpower, material consumption and pending work.
• Track job completion against planned delivery dates.
• Report delays, quality issues and material requirements to management.
• Coordinate with stores, quality, dispatch and purchase departments.

9. Dispatch & Delivery

• Ensure finished products are ready for inspection and dispatch on time.
• Verify job completion against drawings, customer requirements and production instructions.
• Coordinate packing, loading and dispatch activities.
• Ensure customer delivery commitments are maintained.
