About The Comedy TheatreThe Comedy Theatre is India’s largest comedy club chain, operating five venues across the country. Along with live entertainment, we provide our guests with a quality food and beverage experience.

We are looking for disciplined and hardworking Commis II and Commis III chefs to support the daily kitchen operations at our venue.

Role OverviewThe Commis Chef will assist senior chefs with food preparation, cooking, plating, kitchen cleanliness and stock handling. The person should be able to work efficiently during busy show hours while maintaining consistent food quality, hygiene and presentation.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare ingredients according to recipes and instructions from senior chefs
• Assist with cooking, assembling and plating menu items
• Handle basic cutting, chopping, marination and food preparation
• Maintain consistent taste, portion size and presentation
• Complete daily mise en place before service begins
• Ensure food orders are prepared accurately and on time
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food-safety standards
• Store raw materials and prepared food correctly
• Follow FIFO and proper food-labelling procedures
• Monitor stock levels and inform the senior chef about shortages
• Minimise food wastage and control portion sizes
• Clean kitchen equipment, workstations and storage areas
• Follow all company recipes and standard operating procedures
• Support the kitchen team during events and high-volume show hours
• Report equipment issues, damaged stock or hygiene concerns immediately
• Perform opening and closing duties assigned by the senior chef
• Commis III RequirementsBasic understanding of kitchen operations
• Knowledge of food preparation and kitchen hygiene
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
• Freshers with relevant hospitality or culinary training may apply
• Previous internship or kitchen experience will be an advantage
• Commis II RequirementsPrevious experience working in a professional kitchen
• Ability to independently prepare basic menu items
• Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking and plating
• Understanding of portion control, food storage and stock rotation
• Ability to guide junior kitchen staff when required
• Hospitality or culinary qualification will be an advantage
• Skills RequiredBasic cooking and food-preparation skills
• Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety
