JOB DESCRIPTION – ORTHOPAEDIC DOCTOR

Key Responsibilities

Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with bone, joint, muscle, and ligament-related conditions.

Conduct outpatient consultations and provide appropriate treatment plans.

Diagnose and manage fractures, dislocations, arthritis, sports injuries, and other orthopaedic conditions.

Perform or assist in orthopaedic procedures and surgeries as per qualification and hospital protocols.

Review investigations such as X-rays, CT scans, MRI, and laboratory reports.

Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.

Monitor patients during treatment and follow up on their recovery.

Maintain accurate patient medical records and documentation.

Coordinate with nurses, physiotherapists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

Handle emergency orthopaedic cases when required.

Follow hospital SOPs, infection-control procedures, and patient-safety standards.

Explain diagnosis, treatment options, and necessary precautions to patients and attendants.

Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.

Qualification

MBBS with MS/DNB/D.Ortho in Orthopaedics.

Valid medical registration.

Relevant hospital experience preferred.

Skills

Good clinical and diagnostic skills.

Ability to manage emergency and critical cases.

Good patient-handling and counselling skills.

Ability to work effectively with the hospital team.
