Production Manager

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

●   Production Planning & Management

–    Plan, schedule, and supervise daily production activities to consistently meet output and delivery targets.

–    Oversee operation of die-casting machines, T-nut forming machines, PVC machines, tapping machines, and bandsaw machines.

–    Allocate manpower and machine resources based on production priorities and skill sets.

–    Monitor production flow, identify bottlenecks, and resolve issues promptly.

●   Quality Control

–    Ensure all output meets defined quality standards and customer specifications.

–    Work with the quality team to implement inspection checkpoints and reduce rework/rejection.

–    Maintain records of defects, root causes, and corrective actions.

●   Team Leadership

–    Lead, supervise, and motivate production operators, helpers, and technicians.

–    Conduct daily shift briefings covering targets, priorities, and safety.

–    Train staff on machine operation, safety protocols, and best practices.

●   Safety & Compliance

–    Enforce workplace safety guidelines, PPE usage, and statutory compliance on the shop floor.

–    Investigate incidents and implement corrective/preventive actions.

●   Inventory & Resource Management

–    Monitor raw material availability and coordinate timely replenishment with the stores team.

–    Minimize material wastage and maximize machine utilization.

●   Process Improvement

–    Identify and implement process improvements to boost productivity and reduce downtime.

–    Drive lean manufacturing and 5S practices on the shop floor.

●   Documentation & Reporting

–    Maintain accurate shift logs, downtime reports, and production output data.

–    Report production performance, challenges, and machine status to management.

–    Ensure documentation readiness for internal and external audits.

●   Coordination

–    Coordinate with maintenance for preventive maintenance and machine repairs.

–    Work closely with quality, stores, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth operations.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

●   B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.

●   3–4 years of proven experience as a Production Manager or Assistant Production Manager, preferably in a manufacturing/engineering environment.

●   Strong knowledge of production machinery, shop-floor processes, and quality systems.

●   Good people-management, planning, and problem-solving skills.

●   Ability to work under pressure and meet tight production timelines.

●   Basic computer proficiency for reporting (MS Excel/Word).

COMPENSATION

·      ₹25,000 – ₹50,000 per month, commensurate with experience and performance at interview.
