Job Description

A Quality Engineer - Tool and Die ensures that metal stampings, molds, dies, and fixtures meet exact engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and industry standards.



Job Overview

  • Role Type: Full-time Manufacturing / Tool Room Quality Engineering
  • Core Focus: Tooling validation, dimensional accuracy, first-article inspection, and defect prevention.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspections & Validation: Perform in-process, trial, and final inspections for panels, stamping dies, injection molds, and production fixtures.
  • Dimensional Metrology: Operate and program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) and VMM (Vision Measuring Machine), alongside precision tools like micrometers, height gauges, and vernier calipers.
  • Blueprint & CAD Review: Analyze technical drawings, CAD files, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to verify tooling compliance against customer specs.
  • Quality Audits & Compliance: Conduct process audits, supplier evaluations, and internal reviews aligned with standards like ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.
  • Problem-Solving & CAPA: Lead root-cause analysis (using 8D, 5 Whys, or FMEA) when tooling or stamped/molded parts fail inspection.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC): Execute MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) and SPC studies to monitor process capability and variation.
  • Documentation: Build and maintain mold inspection reports, tooling history logs, and quality dashboards for management.
