Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled and passionate Baker with hands-on experience in sourdough bread and pizza making to join our kitchen team at Bakeyard The Garden.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of dough preparation, fermentation, baking techniques, and kitchen hygiene. A passion for baking, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment are essential.

• Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and bake a variety of sourdough breads and artisan pizzas.
• Handle dough mixing, kneading, shaping, proofing, fermentation, and baking.
• Maintain consistency in dough quality, texture, taste, and presentation.
• Prepare pizza dough and manage fermentation according to production requirements.
• Operate and maintain ovens and other baking equipment safely.
• Follow standard recipes and maintain portion and quality standards.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the baking and kitchen areas.
• Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and inform the senior kitchen team about requirements.
• Minimize wastage and maintain efficient kitchen operations.
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily production and service.
• RequirementsPrevious experience in sourdough and/or pizza making is preferred.
• Good understanding of fermentation, dough handling, and baking techniques.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and consistency.
• Good kitchen hygiene and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and techniques.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
