Barista

About us

We are opening a specialty coffee kiosk inside a busy office building. We serve freshly brewed coffee and a small bakery menu to working professionals, and we are looking for friendly, reliable people to join the founding team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based drinks, filter coffee, cold brew, tea and cold beverages to our recipes and quality standards.
• Greet customers, take orders, handle billing on the POS and accept UPI, card and cash payments.
• Keep service quick during the morning and afternoon peaks.
• Set up and close the counter each day: grinder calibration, machine start-up and shutdown, and restocking.
• Follow FSSAI hygiene and food safety rules, including handwashing, sanitising and correct storage and labelling of food.
• Keep the counter, equipment and display area clean at all times.
• Check stock of milk, coffee, bakery items and packaging, and report shortages to the manager.
• Clean and maintain the espresso machine, grinders and other equipment.
• Handle customer feedback politely and pass on any issues you can't resolve.

Requirements

• 0 to 2 years of experience as a barista or in a cafe (freshers with training potential are welcome).
• Basic knowledge of espresso preparation and milk steaming, or a willingness to learn.
• Good communication in English and Kannada or Hindi.
• Comfortable on your feet through a full shift, and able to work weekdays and some weekends.
• Neat appearance and a customer-friendly attitude.
• Willingness to follow hygiene and safety practices.

Good to have

• Latte art skills.
• Barista certification or training.
• Experience with POS systems.
• Knowledge of specialty coffee and brewing methods.
